Prospects

UGA will have its biggest recruiting weekend of the year, beginning Friday. For the Bulldogs to return to the Top 10, they will need a dominating finish among the state’s top uncommitted prospects, which include Harris County DE Jordan Jenkins and Lowndes S-WR Josh Harvey-Clemons, and be able to flip a few in-state players pledged to out-of-state schools, including Buford LB Dillon Lee (committed to Alabama), Sandy Creek WR Jaquay Williams (Auburn) and Stone Mountain LB Markuss Eligwe (FSU). AJC.

One of the members on this board that I have a lot of trust in says that our chances of getting Josh Harvey-Clemons is real good. He did not say that we would, said he thinks we will. In my opinion, that is huge, and think about this . . . . . adding Jordan Jenkins. Coach Grantham wants both of these men and is recruiting them, along with a couple of others.

Today there was talk about our offensive and defensive coaches trying to get their (greedy hands) on John Atkins. I say that with tongue in cheek, when using the word greedy. What a great place for UGA to be in . . . . . players that have the talent to go both ways. My, my . . . how times have changed in the short span of . . . . . a 6-7 season. That is not being ugly, these are facts.

For far too long we have been losing these outstanding South Georgia athletes to FSU, Bama, and I don't want these young men wandering off to, heaven forbid, Florida (Muschamp) and South Carolina (Spurrier). We can invade their territory, don't want them in ours.

Any of you folks hearing anything about the possibilities of getting one or two of the commited athletes?

I do know this, the defense is ready to rock and roll. Ramik Wilson and others know the system and are ready to play a major role with our football team.

Noticed today that a couple of players that were previously commited to us are going in another direction. One probably for academics, the other probably would not be able to crack the lineup.

Here is hoping that the "insiders" have something to say that makes all of us as happy as Keith Marshall signing with UGA.

Go Dawgs . . . . . coach'em up!

Hear from a few down by the old homestead is that JH-C is strongly leaning UGA. The real good news is that the Tallahassee School and that school on the Plains are not really being considered by him...which bodes very well for the Dawgs......most from Lowndes are steered to those schools but I really think not this time.....would be a great get for the Dawgs, this young man can play anywhere
6-5 210. CTG is working him hard.

ogredawg, have not seen JH-C play in person, do know this, Coach Grantham wants him as you say. That my friend is good enough for me. Beginning to think that Coach Grantham understands personnel and defense. (You think). Something along the line of #9 Ogletree moving into the linebacking corps.

Give me a young Safety that is 6'5" (or whatever) and coming into Coach JTII's area at 210 lbs. Walks on the field as a freshman at 225, faster, and excuse me, mean as hell, takes me back to the days of some safeties that would drill you quickly and DARE you to come back into their territory. That has been missing for far too long at UGA.

ogredawg, crossed fingers for JC-H, for sure. Another step FORWARD.

Don't play defense in the SEC, you will be as has been said before, a BOTTOM FEEDER.

Just a side note . . . Notice how Franlin has been kissing up to UGA. Sorry pal, we will remember Nashville and your crap. Also will remember the way that you acted when you played the Cadets of Army. Chickens (you Franklin) come home to roost. Looking forward to your "chop" blocking center facing some of "our boys" next year in Athens. This old fart (Buc) has a lot of time on his hands and remembers folks like you and talks it up prior to game time.

I'm with you, Buc.
Gotta mine that South Georgia gold.
One reason Alabama gets a lot of those kids, Kirby's father coached high school ball there a long time.
I think Coach Grantham is gonna be one helluva recruiter, Relationships.
Go Dawgs!!!!!

If what we think will happen comes through, we will certainly be in good shape with our talent and D
coaching. I've never doubted our ability to recruit
great talent. Maybe one day that will be enough.

I'll leave my comments at that.
