Prospects

Surprising, with all of the "supposed" football knowledge on this board some would consider that AM and others are very smart in what they are doing. Not all are going to the NFL, which in turn alerts these young men to consider other avenues. One cannot start too early when planning for the future. Testing the NFL market is just one step in preparing for a lifetime of success.

Hard for me to speak to where AM's stock is or isn't, guess I have not progressed that far at this point. Probably need another 70 or 80 years to reach those heights.

Nothing more than a very smart young man "career planning".

Really nothing surprising about AM using all of his resources to "plan ahead". He has two more years and he will continue to do this, and as he improves each year his "stock" will rise. Pretty simple.

Earlier, my statement that I would love to see all three playing for the Dawgs was more wishful thinking than what I really think would happen. The plus on Davis is that he is in-state. On Gurley, it would be that he is already friends with Marshall. We'll see who commits first.Hopefully one of 'em will before NSD.

Regarding the draft, neither Charles nor Rambo have even stated for sure that they will go if their stock is high enough. They have talked about how hard a decision it will be. I don't expect them both to go, nor do I expect that both will stay. Charles is ready, but Rambo, in my opinion, needs one more year at the college level. I agree with wlayton that Murray needs two more years before he is truly ready, but as Buc has said, Murray is smart to plan ahead. He will know where his draft stock is at this point in his career, and will be able to set his goal and plan with his coaches how to reach it.

OoltewahDawg, AM would disappoint me if he did not take the route he is taking. A very bright and studious young man that had character building parents and friends. He has always had a support group and his actions speak to that.

While it might be a good time for Orson to pull up stakes, do not be surprised if he goes against current wisdom and plays again between the Hedges. Great young man, also has his head screwed on tightly.

Rambo, lots of interceptions this season . . . . wonder if Coach Grantham's forward wall had anything to do with that . . . :) Speaking for myself of course, do not think that Rambo has fully returned from the big hit against Abuurn couple years back. He will certainly get to show his wares against Michigan State in Tampa.
Agree totally on the running backs. What is the saying . . . "Early bird gets the worm". OoltewahDawg, would seriously like to see one of these young men cast his vote prior to NSD. Could aid the recruiting staff in a pick here or there. Good post. . . . :)

Morning All,

The ABH sports page this morning spoke about a sit down between OC & AM just the two of them hashing the past from high school and were their thinking was for the future.

AM is here next year and would not be surprised for him to follow Peyton's four years in college. He will cya with a hefty insurance policy.

Both spoke how important it was to play well in TPA.

AM's made a side comment about how this team has grown and how much more pride they have in what they do on the field this year.

His take is OC wants to enjoy the bowl game and has at this time not made up his mind about the NFL.

OC spoke about winning the SEC next year and how that would play into his thinking.

He knows he has until Jan 15th and won't put his mind to it until after the bowl game.

I heard that he was pleased that KM is on board and reporting in Jan. be ready for spring ball.

Go Dawgs

IMO........

Always good to plan for the future. AM "feeling out" his status with the NFL is pemature I feel......I doubt he would even receive much feedback from the NFL at this point in his career. Even after 4 years it will be interesting to see if he can transition to the NFL. I certainly love the kid and his style of play but wonder how well it would transfer to the NFL. I would think the NFL personel directors would be a little surprised that AM is doing it this year.

That's all I meant.

Why is AM being premature in going through the process? You really think that the NFL does not keep tabs on each and every player, slow down buddy. They have log sheets on everyone. You seem to be "surprised" a lot these days. How well is Tebow transitioning to the NFL. Your case management here is very "surprising".
