Agree that a lot was not accomplished from the fullback position this year, am glad he got a touchdown. Did see a few blocks but don't think that the shift from tightend to fullback was everything it was "hoped" to be. In my mind, appreciate the fact that BF played a team role.
Appears that there is some serious help coming to the UGA backfield, not just Keith Marshall, thinking the young man from South Florida I have mentioned comes to play.
Amen Buc-Figgins is a DGD though he didn't get to tote the rock as much as I had hoped for.
BTW, Are you talking about the young man-child from S. Florida that is an early verbal for the class of 2013 (or somebody else)? If it's him, WOW when he joins the backfield with Marshall & Crowell (I REALLY hope IC grows up & commits to the team before it's too late), we'll be deep & nasty at RB for sure. I feel certain there are brighter days ahead in Athens!
Goose this is the football player that folks in the southern part of Florida are raving about. He could play any position, wants to be a quarterback, (don't laugh) he is big and strong and has a better arm with more accuracy that Tebow. Look at the scholarship offers, first one Alabama.
West Palm Beach, Florida quarterback Faton Bauta has verbally committed to the Georgia Bulldogs. He is UGA’s 6th verbal commitment for the 2012 recruiting class.
Bauta (6-3, 225) committed to the Bulldogs over offers several top schools, including Alabama, Louisville, Miami (FL), Mississippi State, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, UConn, Utah, West Virginia and others.
Rivals.com rates Bauta as a 3-star recruit, the no. 65 player in the State of Florida and the no. 10 dual-threat quarterback in the country. Scout.com rates Bauta a 3-star recruit and the no. 47 quarterback in the country.
Georgia offered Bauta as a quarterback, but he is talented enough to play several positions including linebacker or tight end. He is set to graduate from Dwyer High School in December and will likely enroll at Georgia in January.
I would invite anyone on this board to go to youtube and watch this man/child play. No fear. Wish he would play fullback, but he is head strong and has a ton of ability. On the practice field my friends down south tell me he is an animal. Plays linebacker and will knock the crap out of you. There is a reason that Saban wanted Bauta.
Put this pup in the backfield with AM, KM and it could be the best backfield UGA has ever had. Say it again, I am told by folks that know, this young man is all that. It has been said to me that Richt coming from Boca Raton and what he (Bauta) has seen from the Tampa boys and Moreno from New Jersey influenced his decision. Fingers crossed by Buc.

Edit: At some point folks are going to realize that stars by players names don't guarantee anything. Sells papers and gets internet clicks. IC might be the shining example of that. He gets his chance next year, with COMPETITION. If he stays in school.

averagedawg, I would hate to see this young man not arrive in Athens. Smart, strong, team player. Gets into Coach JTII's "clinic" and JTII would ask the question, "what are you doing in here". Body is outstanding. It has been said to me that when he hits you, (playing defense) the back always loses ground. I sure hope that he does not end up playing for Saban or that orange and blue school that is now coming after him hot and heavy. Man/child will play every down. Stars be damned.

growl wrote: Buc, you gotta be kidding me, that young man is awesome. Can see him in the Red and Black for sure. Looks like he could be an off/def player for sure. With him in the backfield AM wont have to run for his life. Thanks for the footage
growl, I would hate to see Bauta play in the SEC and it not be UGA. I think he is the perfect fullback and UGA has had some pretty good ones. Hard for me to imagine trying to scheme against this setup . . . AM at quarterback, Bauta at fullback, Marshall at tailback. Then we move along to our receivers and a tightend that did not play this season.
Looks to me that Coach Will Friend gets his group together, UGA is taking another step to be included with the best of the SEC. One man's opinion, but I would should as heck love to have a team like that.
One last thought, DEFENSE looks pretty solid to this old fart. Let us now get some help for AM and we will have a high old time in Columbia for . . . . duck! I would love that. What say you?
