Neutral Site JAX/ATL??

This neutral site thingy has been going on for several years now. Think maybe some of the former UGA players and now maybe our head coach think neutral should be neutral.

I think that the answer to that question should go like this, and did mention it when I first became a board member. Got voted down by a couple of folks.

Let's play UGA/UF one year in Atlanta and the next season in Jacksonville. That would equal out some of the travel time that folks from the Peach State and further now have to travel. Not a short distance like some of the UGA folks in Tennessee and North Georgia mentioned after this years game. Gators should have to do the same thing that Bulldogs do, travel a greater distance to watch these two colleges go at it.

Rest of our schedule SEC especially is a home and home. Why should this game be any different? Because it is billed as the WLOCP. Heck, if it is about cocktails, Atlanta can do that.

Once upon a time, UGA and AU played at a neutral site in Columbus, Georgia at Memorial Stadium. Now it is a home and home, don't see any drop off in the intensity, just brings more capital into the local coffers. Think that changed in 1958.

I would like to know what you folks think about this. Know that some of the former UGA players do not consider playing in Jacksonville as a neutral site. Neither do I, split stadium and tickets do not bring into account travel. Every other year, lets keep some of that jack in the ATL.

–Any chance to talk about the Georgia Dome as a neutral site, Richt jumps at it. He called the dome “a tremendous neutral site.” Hinted that he would like to see another neutral site game here. Hello Jacksonville.

How can playing Florida in Florida be a neutral site?
Talk all you want about tradition, the addition of two more SEC teams is gonna end some traditions.
While we're at it make Russ UGAIX. He has earned his keep.

Buc.....even though I have always loved the tradition of the game in Jax (since 7 years old), I think it does make perfect, logical sense to do the Jax/Atl swap. Fair for the teams and fair for the fans. Nobody can convince me that the travel time, although short, doesn't make it tougher on UGA every year coming down to Jax.

Idea is fine with me....and fair for all concerned.

It definitely doesnt work out to be neutral. Id say a split between Atlanta and Jax, or play alternating years like everyone else home/home. Home/home has more appeal to me in the long run. I vote yes on Russ.

Yikes growl, I dunno......I was at the "Swamp" when we did the home/home while the Gator Bowl stadium was being renovated....that was very ugly memories...very ugly, wouldn't want to go back there. Guess if others are beating UF at home, we can too though.
