Look Out

The whole BCS gives me a headache. I will watch NC game because I like college football. However, I refuse to be consumed with the arguments of who should or should not play because I don't have a Dawg in that fight! That being said there are two games to be plaid that will impact national college football landscape.

Let's play the "when and if" game:
When we beat LSU and if OK st beats OK, there will be 5 1 loss teams; LSU, Alabama, Oklahoma St, Stanford, and Virginia Tech. Should LSU fall further than #2? By losing to a #14 UGA, I think so. Should OK St jump Bama? Probably not. That would give us Bama vs Ok St in NC. I don't have a problem with that. If OK St does jump Bama they would play LSU. I wouldn't mind that. Looks like nobody besides LSU, Bama, or OK St has a chance.

In short I am saying I don't care to see another LSU / Bama rematch. Maybe I'm the only one. Maybe not. What do you guys think?

No more lsu/ala for me. I didnt care to see the first one and surely dont believe they deserve to play again and bore us to tears like the first one. I like defense as much as the next guy,but, the first game was more inept offense as it was good defense in my opinion. Personally I'd like to see stanford and alabama in the NC game,since I feel that lsu after its loss to UGA this weekend should fall 4-5 spots. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DAWGS!

growl, guess the portion of your post about being bored to tears applies to some that watch college football, others like myself appreciate good defense and that game was a classic example of SEC Defense at its best. Inept offenses, think maybe solid defenses had a hand in that.

You also say after Georgia wins this weekend that LSU should drop 4 or 5 spots. That sounds like you are in agreement with many others that UGA is just not that good, otherwise why would LSU fall that many spots.

Remember this, LSU beat Alabama. Don't care what scenario anyone wants to put out there, it was a loss. Kickers have off days like quarterbacks have off days.

Don't really think you like defense as much as I do.

LSU Alabama was a good game, but poor kicking by Alabama let the inferior team win.

I have been going over NCAA data on both teams and UGA and thinking about all the football I have seem (working in a sports bar) and Alabama has a far superior defense. They are the only team in the nation to allow less than 200 yards per game. LSU is #2 of course but they are a good ways back. UGA is #5 IIRC and S. Carolina is #4.

I would rather see LSU play Okie State and see what happens. They gave up a ton of yards to WVU and WVU has a quality passing attack. LSU is vulnerable through the air and that WR at OSU is NFL ready.

Interesting that we are stuck about the same spot in the polls.
It says to me that outside Dixie not much enthusiasm for an all SEC BCS Championship.
According to most pundits the SEC Championship is in the LSU bag, no need to even play the game.
Hopefully, and I expect, this attitude to be a great motivator.
It's not that we don't have quality athletes too.
Having said that, it will be up to the defense to win this game.

No BUC, quite the contrary, I love good defense, but for the sake of me it looked to me like both teams offensively couldnt get out of their own way,plus the fact that I am just not a fan of either of these two teams. Also, I believe that UGA has a good team this year and when they beat lsu this weekend will deserve to be more respected by the media and fans, lsu should drop to # 5-6 because every other team in the world would drop that far ,or further, after a loss even in a game that some say means nothing. I believe that UGA has made great strides this year and when some, even on this forum,were ready to give up on them I never thought for a minute that they werent improving, and would show up for every game. So dont mistake me for a fair weather fan of the Dawgs, or someone who would call it any other way than the way I see it. You are right in one thing though BUC I do like to see a good offensive show,but, respect defense and know that is what wins championships,just cant get excited about those two playing again.
