I agree... we must have a running attack. And we MUST not abandon the run game. Our O line will have to open holes and protect. Simple fact. If have any hope of winning, we must have positive run yardage on 1st and 2nd down setting us up for third and short yardage situations. Third and 6 or 7 will kill us. AM is a much better QB when he has a good run game going. He will be able to manage the game better with short passes and his running ability on third down.

I also see IC in solitary on sidelines. This bothers me greatly. I don't think team has confidence in him and I haven't seen any indication of him trying to gain their respect. Not like backs in the past. Moreno, Hampton, Ware, Worley, Hearst, Davis, Edwards, and of course Walker. This must change. Mr. Crowell, you my son, need to step up and show us why we should allow you to wear the beloved Red & Black. Right now you don't deserve to. Just my opinion.

I think you are right TN Dawg, I keep hoping to see signs of life out of IC and every week its something else that keeps him out of the Game. I am beginning to believe that he may be a worse head case than we've seen here for a while. In my previous post in this thread I said that I was looking for him to get it together soon,but subsequent post by others point to some rather ominous observations that cant be denied. I sincerely hope that he will begin to get it together and be what the Dawgs and fans thought he would be when he got here. Its tough I know, maybe someone can get his attention and lend the direction that it appears he desperately needs. GOOOOOOOOOOOO DAWGS!!!!!!

While LSU is ranked 63rd for yards per game, they are ranked 13th in scoring at 38.1 points per game. We are ranked 25th. They are ranked 97th in passing. That's an eye opener. 97th! However, they are ranked 17th rushing the ball. 16th in time of possession.

In other words, they hog the ball all game by running between the tackles. Their 3rd down conversion percentage is 49%, tied for 11th best in the nation. Again, running the ball down people's throats, mostly between the tackles, and keeping the ball away from the other team's offense. And they score a lot of points while doing all of that.

More frightening, to me anyway, is the fact that they give up only 10.6 points per game. Second only to Alabama. They are also second to Alabama in yards given up per game. They are ranked 6th in total pass defense, 4th in rushing defense, and 11th in interceptions.

Let's put it this way. Our O-Line and our D-Line will both be critical in winning this game. I think the only sound strategy is to stay balanced and hog the ball. Keep their D on the field all game. Devote all of our resources to their ground game - make them beat us through the air.

We have two advantages. Our passing attack could be the difference in the game. If both D's are able to stop the run games of each other. LSU only had 91 yards against Bama. When their run game is controlled they simply don't have the passing game to win. A perfect balance for us would be 200 on ground and 200 through air, while making them throw the ball. If we can't stop the run this could get ugly quick.

Second advantage is they are overlooking the SECCG. They are not looking at it as a must win like we are. They are already looking ahead to NC rematch with Bama. Big mistake. Miles will have a hard time keeping his team focused when the only talk is about NC game and not SEC.

And the third and fourth things to consider go without saying. Turnovers and special teams. Very important in close games. Look at first Bama/LSU game.
