Oh, how I've missed ya, Field Goal U

From time to time there are disagreements on the how and why . . . . know that because one way or another I am probably in quick sand up to my neck in the back and forth.

The beauty of this to me is the point, counter point. One can look at both sides of the conversation and more times than not, both sides make legitimate points. A bit like viewing color in the publishing business, not everyones eyes see color the same way.

Took a cruise over to Bill King's column in the AJC. Bill is a DGD, does sometimes wear certain issues on his sleeve, however nothing wrong with that in my camp. Don't always agree, but I don't count.

Then when reading the comments section after reading his article . . . . . hard for me to wade through some of the stupidity that "supposed" Dawg fans post. Point I am trying to make, we get into "issues" on this board with each other, but have not as yet seen it get to the "stupidity" level that is reached too easily for far too many "supposed knowledgable Dawg fans" on that portion of the AJC. Quite frankly, some of the "supposed" fans embarrass the hell out of me. Hard for me to accept ignorance from some that are past the age of twenty-one.

If I were the head coach of the UGA football team, this season would be the last for Bobo as offensive coordinator. Quarterback coach, assistant coach, ok with that. Not offensive coordinator, he has too often proven that as did Willie Martinez that he is not qualified to wear the head anything label. I don't hate Bobo, I don't hate Martinez (does come close on WM) just know that we can continue to bring them back year after year and the results will never make both sides of the differences on this board come to total agreement. That is on Richt. If the head coach thinks that his protoge is mentally equipped to be called offensive coordinator, I will also have problems. Feel that we are one or two coaches away from taking this talent to the elite level.

Bobo will not leave his position on his own. Martinez put his lips out and took off to Oklahoma, not accepting the fact that he did not have the coaching skills to improve UGA football.

One last statement. Again Bobo said after the Kentucky game how the Defense saved the team. I love team play, want someone with team play coaching skills involved with Grantham and Richt. Bobo is not that coach. One old farts thoughts.

Buc, I think you know how I feel about Bobo........fine with me to demote him back to QB coach and go get a new OC......never deviated from that.

If you are referring to ogredawg and myself.....IRONICALLY ogredawg are on the same page and he doesn't realize it. I don't like the inconsistencies on offense either and do want another OC. NO argument there.

2 things........1. we all know we have this problem but can't understand being "unhappy" with winning the East......WITH our problem, I'm damn proud of the team for doing whatever it took to get it done. 2. no matter how bad Bobo/CMR is at calling plays, I was just saying yesterday really handicapped them and UK's D easily took advantange of it......therefore, just glad to win. If CT and IC had been in the game like last week, believe you would have seen the same type of results because it would have changed the dynamics of the entire game.

Guess I'm just tired of reading NEGATIVE crap ALL the time......geez, let it soak in people...we did win the East.

I said I was happy that we won 1/2 of the SEC......just not happy about the ugly way we did it and it showed me that we are still a second tier SEC team with the way this offense is being coached.......it is not just the last game I am talking about it is the whole season thus far and the sloppy way we have won games.....I can take an ugly win or 2 but not week in and week out so please don't say I am "unhappy" about winning 1/2 of the SEC I am unhappy about the way we did it.....

wlayton, like you have been around this board for a while. From time to time there are differences of opinions. Actually was not referring to you and ogredawg. Although the thread does make the wheels move. I recall some differences that were much more involved than this one, involved to the point that sitting behind a computer screen could not see but feel the hair on folks necks beginning to stand up. That is what makes this board what it is.

You and I don't have to sit on the sidelines and agree on everything that is being said. Even if it involves becoming SEC East Champions, or National Champions. Don't think I have read where anyone in this thread dislikes the fact that we are the East Champions. Believe the point is how we got there and that makes for a lot of conversation. That is a good thing, because . . . . this board operates in that fashion.

As far as you and ogredawg coming from Valdosta, would be hard to argue with football knowledge from two men coming from that area and playing the game.

Another part of the UGA football scene that I would visit on the part of Bobo is this. . . . apparently he is a heck of a recruiter. That can be more valuable that carrying the title of offensive coordinator.

All of us on this board will soon see where our head coach thinks our values are. Values meaning coaching responsibilities. We cannot continue to have one side of the TEAM carry the other side. How this works is . . . excuse me . . . . Saban's way. Both sides carry equal responsibilities. Richt has decisions to make, all of us will have things to say when this season ends.

I am excited for two reasons . . . . We are SEC East Champions. We finally have a defense in Athens, looking forward to Tech and their efforts to try and beat Grantham's defense. Same can and will be said about Bobo's offense against a pretty good Tech defense.

wlayton, I think you just need to embrace the fact that people deal with all kinds of things differently, and because it isn't the way you deal with it doesn't make it wrong, as you seem to imply.
