Here is what is going to happen. Oklahoma loses to Baylor tonight. Oregon loses to USC. Arkansas beats LSU thus putting Alabama in the SEC title game (higher BCS ranking as tie breaker).UGA spanks Alabama and vaults Stanford and Va. Tech because everyone knows they suck and UGA beats ____________ for the national title.

It could happen.

Woah dude.................you are like college football Nostradamus or something.

I like it kd....Clemson lost too and Stanford is behind against Cal (for now). VT could lose to Clemson in their conference championship game. After all the dust settles and the 1 loss teams get that extra loss, maybe it will be BSU and UGA back at the top, huh?.....how cool would that be?

I like it on many levels.

If any one on this board thinks we can beat Alabama or LSU with a 2nd tier SEC type offense more power to you......not going to happen...period....brutal you call me wlayton......why because I am realist and see that our problems lie with the coaching of these players and that the only way we can win is to win ugly with this talent......I am happy that we finally got 1/2 an SEC title with a mediocre offense playing against mediocre compitetion.....again Thanks to CTG and our D......I thought this offense turned the corner against Auburn.....wow was I ever wrong......seems now we are making excuses for winning ugly.....we had no running game IC got hurt (no surprise there) Offensive line did not play well (duh) no depth here or there (duh) 7 SEC wins 6 of them ugly against teams with losing records in the conference......happy no I am not and now we are stuck with an inept OC for another year..........just great........

wlayton wrote: I don't even think the play calling was that different.....what people are missinterpreting is EXECUTION. Play calling looks GREAT when it is executed properly. CMR/Bobo tried to establish the run....not going to do it with a RB the size of my 12 year old and KM that is "green" at best. UK KNEW we couldn't gash them running the ball so they put 4 maybe 5 in the box and dropped 6-7 in the secondary making it tough to pass on them.

Our lack of execution was situational (no threat at RB) and we think it was bad play calling. Certainly not saying the play calling was perfect......just the lack of personel made it easier for them to defend.

I think the play calling was poor, because while we didn't gash them, we did establish the run. We got 155 rushing, which is decent, compared to 162 passing. The thing is Bozo didn't try to rush until the second half, which is, of course when we scored a TD and kept them off the field. When IC went down (again) Bozo completely abandoned the run for the next few series and the O looked pathetic. When he decided to start running it again to set up the pass, we were moving the ball again and probably would have scored a couple more times if not for the fumbles and INT.
I think the play calling is what hurt the execution, not vice versa. They knew when he abandoned the run their job got much easier. It's like he had to get to halftime to make a new plan, but as I've said before, and is proven week after week, if he is basing his plan around IC, he needs to have a readily available back up plan.
But to your other points, ecstatic to get the win and the SEC east crown.
GOOOOOOOOOO DAWGS!!!!!!!

ogredawg, speaking about the defensive side, thought I would post this paragraph that I picked up on the internet. I try to follow what Oklahoma's defensive backfield does. Wille Martinez is working his MAGIC in Oklahoma. Can't imagine him ever being hired to be a defensive coordinator.

Baylor quarterback Griffin completed 21 of 34 passes while setting single-game school records for passing yards and his 551 total yards. Wright’s 208 yards receiving was also a school record, on eight catches.

We miss you Willie . . . . NOT.

This needs to be said for the critics of IC . . . I am ALSO a critic of his brittle nature, BUT -

Did ANYONE see the replay of when he got his ankle injured? Is there ANYONE posting here who REALLY thinks that type of freak accident is something someone can just "play through"? That was UGLY. It was NOT just a bruised shin. He got that ankle smashed FLAT by a 300 + pound lineman falling on it. I'm just hopeful he's available next week.

As for CT, there is NO excuse for this. I don't care what the kid did. It doesn't appear to have been a "minor" transgression of team rules - he's out for APPARENTLY TWO games. I just keep thinking that CT must have had some "THC" for that to happen. (I'm sure he was just late for a team meeting . . . yeah, right.)

Kentucky was fired up and playing as high as a KITE for this game, and still couldn't win. We were flat and quickly got down to the dregs of our running corps, and still found a way to win. I thought we would do much better, but I'll take this win. Especially since nobody on earth was as sick over this win as Steve Spurious. AM was just not on his game at all. I had no idea where he was going to throw some of those passes. But . . .

we still won, we're 9-2, SEC East Division Champions, playing in the Dome against LSU (most likely), for a possible conference championship, and this year we beat Tennessee, Florida AND Abuurn. Anyone who thinks that because of this "losing" win and the way we played that we have no chance against LSU should apply that same logic to how so many top 10 teams lost this week. None of them should have lost. None of the teams that beat them should have won.

We have a chance. It's called DEFENSE. And it would help a lot if CT would start RUNNING on the grass instead of SMOKING it.
