Can't look past New Mexico State now...

Picked this piece up from the AJC this morning. Talk about a canned statement. Reading many of the comments over there, the concerns seem to be folks were glad that it happened now, not before the Auburn game. I guess it is all about winning with a large percentage of the supposed "Dawg Faithful". Getting too damn old, hard for me to accept, no . . . . can't accept some of the trash that is being spewed by many so called Dawg faithful.

At some point, some one is going to get the young pups attention. My fingers are crossed that McGarity is the man.

“We have certain standards in all that we do and their actions do not reflect the Georgia way,” Richt said in a statement released by UGA Sports Communications on Tuesday afternoon. “They will serve their suspensions, learn a lesson and I’m sure will be better men for it.”

I have purposely laid off of the coaching staff recently, sorry the bold type above is the "Company Line". Probably will throw a monkey wrench into the thread with this but . . . the defense was turned over to Grantham and his crew, the offensive side stayed the same, with the exception of Friend. Did not see a single defensive name on the latest round of rule breakers. Suspensions on that side of the ball were handed out by the SEC for "defending" themselves on the field of battle. Wonder if coaching or lack of coaching discipline plays out as this has too often.

Thought when I awoke this morning that I would calm down a little, has not happened, might be in a worse mood than when I retired last night. Don't know fellows, something is not right with the management of UGA football. Again, McGarity step up.

Edit: Forgot about Washington, strike one on the D side.

As far as IC as a running back, who will know his name 10 years from now. Herschel Walker is still remembered . . . why . . . . because he was a MAN OF PRINCIPLE and also true to UGA.[/quote]

Sorry Buc but Herschel is remembered for winning a Heisman trophy and the only NC for UGA in the last 30 years in addition to arguably being the best athlete to ever come out of the southeast. This is a man who recently on ESPN said "I wanted to quit football and join the military so I could KILL people". Also got a lot of ink at the age of 48 for saying he wanted to fight Steve Spurrier.

A lot of the criticism heaped on IC now are from the sames ones who were ecstatic when he signed last February. Everyone knew where he was from and what he was about but didn't see a single post saying "hold on a minute, we shouldn't sign this guy".

Why all the faith in McGarity?

Just in the last few years while at UF.

1) Carlos Dunlap DUI before the SEC Championship.

2) UF player caught using a girls creidt card that had been killed in a motorcycle wreck.

3) Chris Rainey texting girlfriend "time to die". Reinstated for UGA game though.

4) Jenoris Jenkins kicked off team for repeatedly failing drug test.

Those are just ones I can think of without looking anything up.

Best I remember J. Foley is and was the AD at UF.

And yes, I am one of those that put the program ahead of victories. What say you?

southernlover wrote: Sorry guys, I'm not getting holier than though at this point in the season. I want to go to Atlanta and we need IC to get there. If he smoked "spice" or whatever and the NCAA doesn't suspend him let him play. If he was in trouble before the UF game and they delayed the suspension I don't care. None of you can honestly tell me you would have traded a win against Florida for a suspension of our starting running back with Samuels history of underachieving.

Guessing that you got your answer on how many feel about the above statement.

Just want to be real clear to you about the above statement.

I would trade the win, and that is as honest as I can be.

I have to agree with Buc. Trade the win. As much as I hate the Gay-Tors, I'd rather lose to them honest and have the program look itself in the mirror than allow some gangsta to CONTINUE the downfall of the entire program.

At this point I wish the NFL would just go ahead and start it's own farm system and give us back our good OLD fashioned college game, played by amateurs for the love of the sport and their school. Laugh at me for that if you want, but I'll be laughing right back at you for what you have become if you do. I know one old timer who gave up on the sport more than 20 years ago . . .

But I'm just one old f@rt. :P

Oh yeah, and Buc . . . BUMP!!!
