Now that I've stopped breaking things..........

13 years 4 months ago #40928 by TN Dawg
I have waited to post this because I honestly didn't know what to say. After the game (I think that is what I watched) I sat there in amazement. This was certainly not the same team I watched in weeks past. I thought I saw improvement. I was mistaken. I will give credit where credit is due. AM played a good game and the DBs played ok at some points.

But what happened to:

O line - they have not been a strength so far this year, but come on. We only had 117 rushing yards. O line could not get a first down to run out clock?
D line - Vandy had 200 rushing yards! Vandy? They were averaging only 131.
SP teams - Too many FG attempts. 4 for 6. Too many breakdowns on SP teams. And a blocked punt. Didn't we call time out just before the punt? Was that a different punt formation?

Bottom line is we played a sloppy game. Very lucky Vandy player did not scoop up and run for TD.

TN D.....what have you been watching?? Our OL has sucked all year.

We called time out one second before the punt to let the clock run all the way down.

Changed our punt formation a couple of weeks ago.

Our O-line has sucked all year.

That doesn't mean you don't at least attempt to do something with a chance to pick up a first down if you're going to be handing the ball off anyway. They suck, but not 100% incapable of picking up a
single first down against Vandy kind of suck.

Man, why don't you just let go......ok, with our below average OL (at best) and with 9 in the box and them KNOWING we are going to run the ball.....of course, all of a sudden become BAMA and just run it down their collective throats. We couldn't do that against Duke if they had 9 in the box, knowing we had to run the ball.

I assume you've played organized football before.

interesting stat...

Georgia has made 20 red zone trips against SEC foes. That’s more than any other team in the conference. Unfortunately, the Dawgs have cashed in with touchdowns only 10 times. If UGA doesn’t start scoring TDs instead of field goals, it could bite them as they try to win the East Division
