Ooops, I didn't make that clear. I meant that FSU will be the 14th team and FSU will join the east while AM is in the west

You are right BulldogShannon, very clear. Seminoles in the East and A&M in the West.

Crossed fingers, moves like these will only make college football better. Tightens the grip on keeping these great footballl players in the South. Many of us (or some) like DawgDoc/wlayton/averagedawg/and others on this board remember when the Big 10 and Pac 10 looked down their noses at us.

It would be a huge mistake in my way of thinking to allow those on the outside to try and shift what is understandably the best college football to leave the South. By that I mean, the SEC has what it has worked for, took many years for that to happen. This is not a shot at you younger folks, it is a fact. Those of you that participate on this board can say the same thing years from now. Leave my SEC alone, and that is pointed from me to Slive and others that I don't have full confidence in.

We played their game for many years, kept our mouth shut and played football. Now they (choose your conference) want what we have. Dial up ESPN and other media haunts. As much as the Ohio State folks that work for that network want the SEC to think that they are for positive football, like yankeedawg1 has said, got some land that is above water 12 hours each day, will lease or sell it to you.

Hell yes FSU, you had a chance not too many years ago to be a part of the SEC, wanted to play against inferior football teams and joined the ACC, Bobby Bowden era, where is he now. Georgia Tech, same thing, where are they now . . . . .

Promise you that Florida does not want FSU in the SEC. Anyone know why . . . . I do.

FSU doesn't really make sense in terms of expanding the TV market. Then again, Florida is a huge state with lots of homes that watch FSU football that don't tune in to the SEC games. Still think that A&M and Virginia Tech is a more logical expansion. VT would give us the DC market while still keeping the southern geography.

my thoughts if the SEC expands is this Texas A&M and Missouri to the west......FSU and Va Tech to the east.....16 team super conference......Big 12 falls apart leaving Oklahoma and Oklahoma State free to go to the Pac 12....leaving the Big 10+2 to pick up Boston College and maybe Miami and the ACC falls apart...could very well happen.....the Big East is anyones guess....picking up the leftovers....NC State, NC, Va. and possibly Duke to make a basketball super conference......I say bring em on.....

Then again, FSU to the SEC would render the ACC completely irrelevant in the southeast.

The North Carolina schools suck at football, and Miami, Georgia Tech, and Clemson's alumni bases are too small and too isolated to matter, even if their teams are good from time to time. Nobody north of Lake Okechobee in Florida, outside the 285 perimeter in Georgia, or outside Pickens county in South Carolina would care about the ACC to any greater extent than they currently care about Conference USA.

Can you imagine a basketball conference with Duke, UNC, UCONN, Syracuse, Georgetown, Pittsburgh, Wake Forrest, Cincinatti, and Temple? It would be the SEC of college hoops.

If that happens, we should probably let Kentucky go and join that and bring West Virginia football on board to the SEC.
