Good Morning All,

It was another quite, therefore a great week in Athens.

The news of Ealey’s return to the team after a very public dress down can turn into a very positive factor in his life and for the team. I am sure that his fellow players took notes about where the “line” is and what happens if crossed. Not a bad thing.

No chatter at all about CK, with spring ball coming up next week we may get a word what his future with the team is. I like the personnel moves, AO at ILB from safety and moving JJ to the OLB. Shows CTG is staying true to his word. Playing the best 11 possible at the position that they will have the most production.

Word drifting off campus is that Father “Joe” has laid the law down about players spending too much time downtown trolling the bars. Seems that the team has given themselves an unofficial curfew for weekdays and weekends. Much conversation on up coming spring break between players about staying out of the headlines. Have fun, party but don’t call attention to yourself and by all means stay in good grace with the law. I hope that this is the year we don’t get stupid. I am sure the coaching staff will be holding their breath for 12 days. Me thinks Mack has also added a few words to be heeded.

Spring is making a run here in Athens. For those who know Athens the section of Milledge Ave from Broad (The Varisty) to Five Points is nothing short of spectacular. The trees are in full bloom the Sorority houses holding spring open house. The afternoon jogging crowd is very active and never looked better. When my teenage Grandson comes to visit he asks Grandpa if we can cruise Milledge and check out the skin. He calls it some of Athens finest artwork. Yup!

Having said that it might be time to hit the “V” for a chili dawg and a bag of rags.

Rain is called for both Saturday & Sunday.. Honey Do list moves inside !

Stay safe, give thanks and have a great weekend. Prosit !!

As always “Go Dawgs”!!!

Go Dawgs!

yankeedawg1, lots of things going on in Athens, know you must hate living there and having to see and hear all of the changes the coaching staff is making. Probably moaning over your chili dog right now. Awww to be a teenager again . . . Thanks for the update and the Athens sharing. :)

I know that most years we or me . . . get into that frame of mind that things are going to change and the Red and Black is back. What is going on now has the sweet smell of Spring. Attitudes seemed to have changed IMMENSELY.

Also think that Grantham does not throw accolades around easily, seems to be the kind of coach that believes respect is earned.

Picked this piece up from ecdawg's site.

Kwame Geathers is really buying in. About a week or so ago I talked to his uncle and cousin at a football meeting (sat with them), Kwame loves Coach T. Coach T has taken a special fondness of Kwame as well. In fact so much so, that Coach T has put Kwame in charge of leading lifts and runs. Kwame is making all the runs. He couldn't complete the 1 mile run last season.

I was told that Kwame is fighting to start at the Nose position. Kwame wants to win out over Jenkins. Now how is that for positive competition?

I think we will see a brand new Kwame. A quote of Grantham's today:

"I will say I’ve been pleased with Kwame Geathers in the offseason,” Grantham said. “I think he’s busted his tail, and I’m looking forward to seeing what he can do in the spring. … He’s worked hard. He’s older. He’s mature. He’s changed his body a little bit. He’s gotten stronger, and as he’s added weight, he’s decreased his body fat. I’ve seen him work really hard.”

yd1......thanks again for your Friday posts to last us through the weekend. Always informative and a fun read.

Two things especially got my attention.....
1. CK......not sure he will be back......gotta get his grades up.....probably over for him
2. Ealey.....have a feeling he's going to step it up and really compete hard this year.....got that feeling.

Oh.......guess I lied about TWO things that got my attention........

#3 would be picturing all the young ladys jogging through Sorority Row.......geez, I'm not dead yet. :woohoo: :woohoo: B)

Read where Wooten has added 12 pounds. Looks like JT has everyones attention. I like Wooten. Really hope that we can get all of the talent to play as a team. Murray says that the "team" is chomping at the bits to start the Spring and are looking forward to Boise State. Does not sound like over confidence, believe that the staff has gotten these young pups attention. :)

yankeedawg1, takes me to this . . . . wonder what our new LB coach thinks about the change of position for AO. Appears to me the defensive side of the ball is hell bent for leather. Excellent group of athletes for our new coach. Almost as if he hit the lotto with the change of teams. :)
