ogredawg, UGA football needed a solid shakeup. Players working hard under JTII, following the rules, don't see a lot of wiggle room for the teachers of "football science" when all coaches return to be with their pupils.
stanger was out with some of the troops over the last few days and he said that they are pumped and all are showing the benefits of S&C. Going with what ogredawg said and I agree, talk is cheap, show me. Show me on the field in Atlanta and the following Saturday in Athens. That makes sense to me. Good to have someone on this board that is close with some of the football team and willing to share. (Two of them, stanger and wlayton)
As far as the running game, UGA should never be without a top ten running back (in the nation). UGA known for running backs and tight ends. At some point someone forgot their "history lesson" the last few years. Here we are talking about Caleb King taking over the starting role, not in disagreement with stanger or anyone else. Can only place my bet on results, of which Caleb King has shown zero. If he comes out this year and burns it up . . . . that was what he was recruited to do. Right? Takes me back to Moreno sitting out and he was the best running back at UGA at that time, drafted #10 by the Broncos. Makes one wonder about the football professors when it comes to talent. Richt said that he probably made a mistake on Moreno, hope that is the last one at the running back position.
South Carolina, Auburn, Alabama and others in the SEC have passed us in this area of recruiting. Hold on. . . . . Isaiah Crowell might be the best ever, we however cannot say that at this point. I agree with wlayton about IC, watching film on youtube, will know a lot more in Atlanta against Boise State. I trust what wlayton has to say, feel sure he is right on Isaiah Crowell. Looking at the film, what is to disagree with? Other than the fact that he is now going to play in the best football conference in college, SEC.
So, Richt brought in one of the best RB's in the country in the 2011 class, maybe he learned something from the last two or three years of wandering about, I don't know. UGA is all about outstanding running backs.
Folks, I am not really beating Richt up, I am asking questions about talent.
