KD, agree totally with you. It seems to me that Richt is fine with just an average season and that's what concerns me more than anything. To me an average regular season should be 11-1 at worst because there will always be that one game where the other team just outright played better. Noticed I said "ONE" game. And we all know what that one game would probably be. Maybe I've set my expectations too high here.

If you're a head coach and handed top 10 recruits every year and things are not working out, there's only 2 other things that's wrong. It's your coaching staff or you.

I think Garner is the biggest problem and here is why. He has simply missed on too many elite Georgia pplayers the last 4-5 years. We have average talent now.

Did anyone see Heyward in the Sugar Bowl? 45 minutes from Athens. Morgan Burnette, Juwan james, Dickson, Bray, Rogers, Mack Brown, on and on and on. The Carver-Columbus fiasco a couple years back.

After 11 years in Athens, we should have a pipeline in this state, yet we don't. There is something going on beneath the surface: it has to be laziness, lack of aggresiveness, arrogance, or something.

Richt is the closer. Garner is supposed to get the top players primed and pumped, and CMR comes in and closes the deal.

I don't like Bobo either, but if we had the Tackles that Bama has, and two 5 star WR's running the patterns, we may be able to hit on a few more of them.

The bottom line, is the whole staff needs to go now because unless they win 9-10 next year, they are gone anyway. We are not gonna win 9-10.

Why wait?

I would vote to keep Richt if we had a Kirby Smart type attitude running the recruiting front-but we have a fat cat doing that; one making $300K at that. But we don't.

Richt, please don't go away mad, just go away.

Chris Peterson? Kyle Whillingham? Dan Mullen? Hello?

For all his quiet personality, I think Richt's problem is stubbornness.
Being stubborn to a fault will kill you every time.

BulldogShannon many things in your post that I agree with. One that really stands out at this point is RG recruiting and priming the recruits for MR to come in and close the deal. That is quickly going by the wayside it appears. This not only falls in MR's basket, it is as you say a rising issue with RG.

Good example of a top notch recruiter, one that I think is as good as any . . . . Tracy Rocker of Auburn. Rocker has been kicking UGA's butt when it comes to bringing home the bacon. In my opinion, Rocker has head coaching ability and should be affored that opportunity, and will at some point. Again, I am one of those that believe defense wins championships.

Want to see these young men stay in the state . . . folks like Rocker have the ability to do that. Rocker is and was a warrior on and off of the field.

Did not take a long period of time for Auburn to get back to the top of the pack after TT was released. Not going to get involved here with the Newton business, talking about coaches and their experience. Auburn releases TT and now they are playing for the NC. TT coaching elsewhere and . . . . looks like Auburn knew what needed to be done and did it. A link posted below that backs up what I have tried to say about TR.

Richt does not seem to have that aura like Saban and others. He is just an nice guy. Todays young player is so full of himself and the NFL career he is going to have and how he is going to date Beyonce and make an album.................Andy Taylor walking in the room does not make an impression. I bet Saban walks in like Nature Boy Rick Flair in his prime and bluster or not kids take notice.

Buc, I agree about TR. He is one of the best recruitors out there. Trooper is also a pretty dang good one too. AU has had a tremendous year. But I look at them the same way I look at UF. What is going to happen after Newton leaves? They are never going to see another kid like that, and yet there offense is 90% dependant on him doing things that no one else will be able to do. If he decides to leave, I am guessing they will be a one hit band. Especially of Malzahn decides to leave. They have done an excellent job recruiting, but wouldn't be surprised to see them on probation within the next 2 years. To me, that just isn't worth it.

As far as the losses to UF and bama in those years, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but we were not more talented that them. Yeah, we had Stafford and Moreno(there were others, but these were the biggest names). Stafford is on his way to making the Whose #1 biggest flops list? I realize injuries have plagued his career in the NFL, but still, Tebow has done more in his 2 starts than Stafford has done in his NFL career. I will say Moreno has done well, but so has Percy. Interesting that you also say we had more defensive talent than those 2 schools. I could see stating that we had more offensive talent, but not defensive. UF's defenses were probably the most talented of any, but bama was awfully dang good too. We had no player to the likes of McClain. Go back on look at those rosters.

Bottom line is that I am fine with bringing in a new staff. I did take up for Richt, and man did he burn me. But I guess I wouldn't shoot one of the horses just because she had a limp in her trot. Now, once I determined that limp was due to a break and was actually going to get worse, then it is a different story. Richt appears to have a break somewhere.

GO DAWGS
