RICHT---PLEASE RESIGN

sadlerdawg, picked this post up from another blog. Thought you would appreciate the fact that you are not the only one that can read what our offense is "not doing".

I predict that our offense will be less productive in 2011 than it was in 2010. Our scheme is dependent on superior talent and perfect execution. When we had three first rounders with Stafford, Moreno and Green, it worked pretty well, but even then it fizzled out at critical times. Next year our receiving corps takes a step backwards and possibly the OL too.

Every defensive coordinator in the SEC knows our playbook backwards and forwards, and they have a good idea what we're going to run before the ball is snapped. When in doubt against Georgia, just tell the linebackers to run straight for the ball immediately at the snap and you'll probably get a drive stopping play before we can get to the endzone. Every 2nd and 10 equals an automatic 3rd and 8 after the run up the middle gets stuffed. Our goal on offense is to be balanced, conservative, and not lose the game. If we have a 3 point lead in the fourth quarter, our goal is to use up clock. The result is that our offense will be the cause of at least 3 losses every season and probably more as the talent wanes.

Aaron Murray is a bright spot, but we seldom use his mobility to get him out of the pocket, we keep him under center on obvious passing downs, we don't run screens and rarely audible to hot routes to slow down the blitz, we don't run naked bootlegs near the goal line when the defense has 9 men in the box, we coach him to throw the ball away rather than occasionally scrambling until something opens up. Not intended as specific critiques of specific plays, just to point out that, basically, we use Murray the exact same way we used Matt Stafford and Joe Cox, which means that there's minimal flexibility in our thinking and our gameplan on offense.

I'm hopeful that the defense will improve greatly as they learn the scheme better and I think they'll be fun to watch, but the offense has been running the exact same scheme for 5 years and they have nothing more to learn, just try to excecute better with a little less talent. The odds of winning the SEC under these conditions are nil, IMO.

Buc, that blog you posted is exactly what I'm saying. Any moron can predict what our next play is going to be, in any game, in any situation. I can't help but think of the scene from the movie "The Waterboy", when they're in the bowl game, and the announcers say that it's almost like the other team's coach has Coach Cline's playbook, and they show him reading "Coaching for Dummies" on the sideline.

The SMART era CONTINUES!!!!!!

sadlerdawg, just goes to show that I read what you post. B) Even though it came from a Marine, I still understood the lingo . . . spent many months with MAG-11. ;)

Don't have to shove, just want to be in the same line. kentdaddy and you really started voicing the truth first on this board, some are beginning to see what you guys were preaching. Also, glad to see that you have returned to "calling it like it is". You buttoned up for a while, folks like you need to beat the damn drums.

Spent a lot of time on the internet since Memphis, and the most disappointing blogs that I have read still believe that Richt can turn this football team around. Never friggin happen. How many chances has he had in the past five years. Don't give a hoot about the first years, that is history.

This program is . . . forgive me . . . . a failure, let me restate that . . . A FAILURE.

Give Richt his money McGarity, lucky next year to win 4 games. Looked the schedule over again and for the life of me not sure about 4 wins.

Some say we need to keep Richt because he is a great recruiter, ok, pay him to recruit not to coach UGA football.

I refuse to let up on someone that can recruit, however can't coach. FACT.
