wlayton, Gotta to hand it to you though: you had the name out there before anyone. Then, to hear from the Pres. of the Bulldog Club in a Florida city say point blank that the DC and OC job was going to be Shannon's and Whipples had they been fired, leads me to think that somewhere down the road, you may get your wish.
Now the question is: IF bobo is out, and IF Richt asks Whipple, WOULD Whipple leave Miami for UGA?
My gut is he would. Or was he only going to come here if Shannon did too?
Do you mind telling me a little aboutWhipples style? I haven't watched Miami too much. What offense? More run, more pass? balanced???
Looking forward to yours and Bucs input on him.
Thanks BS, actually just a coincidence on my part.
Yes, I think he would come mainly because there is NO and I mean NO upside in money at UM. The school doesn't pay well at all. That's why they aren't running Shannon off, cheap HC pay.
What I've noticed about his offense (excluding Harris throwing int's) is first of all he is an attacking offense. Very balanced with the run and the pass but what impressed me the most was his ANTICIPATION of what the D was going to do and he countered it with an aggressive play call.....and the right play call. Sometimes he ran it when you thought he was going to pass and vice versa. I've seen him really fool a lot of DC's.....and I mean baffled them. Jacory Harris is so overrated at QB, AM would score 50 everytime out with MW's offense. Fun to watch and you never know what he's going to call.....intellengent.
Think this way......Peyton Manning on the sidelines, reading the D's and calling the plays. ALMOST reminds me of that......never backs off, even with a lead, he just keeps coming at your D.

Buc, right on. Wlayton, I remember you mentioning him first. The guy i spoke with this weekend said alot of the big donors in JAX wanted him.
Buc, both Drew and Crowell are coming to UGA, unless a scandel , or coaching change happens.
MAN, I hope you are right!!!
Like the way MW calls a game, very aggressive. Imagine what he could do with a GOOD QB like AM. :woohoo: :woohoo:
Going to try and tag both of you guys . . .

I am really glad that we did not get Shannon, glad that we did not have the opportunity. He is a good man, (heard that before?) wants his players to graduate. Actually the President of the University, Shalala demands that. Has had some off field problems (who has not?) but the players in South Florida don't seem to take to his style of coaching.
If Whipple were to be hired tomorrow, wlayton, BulldogShannon, I would predict huge things for UGA. He understands the total game, really loves to go down field with the ball. Working out of the (I) with a QB like AM, and an incoming QB like CL, we would be unstoppable. His QB is good, but does not have all of the parts needed to win in a weak ACC, quite frankly. Put this guy with Crowell, Charles, White, Wooten and all of the rest . . . it would be showtime.
I would love to see Whipple in Red and Black . . . damn right!!
Going to vote now, you folks have a great evening and remember what RabunDog says often, respect those VETERANS, they allow us to face the ballot box.
Go Dogs!!

I am sure crowell would still come if he heard from Whipple.
Assuming no defensive recruits would decommit, but hwo knows?
Could be the best of both worlds--making a change, but not enough of one to lose recruits over.

WLAYTON, you are really staring to convince me Whipple can do it. If he needs a ride up here, let me know, I'll go get him.
I-75 South, right????
Just get him and go North, tell him he's headed for "God's Country".
