There comes a time when you have to take a serious look at your investments.
At this point we have 10 years invested in Mark Richt. Same can be said for MB on a different scale.
Some of the posts that I am reading here actually have me wondering if we are talking about UGA football or personalities.
If we could have our crystal ball speak to us and the CB said you can have ten more years of the same, both wins and losses or, break into the heart of the matter, much like Bama did and go for the gusto. No question in my mind as to what should be done, or the choice to be made.
Some are saying that it is not the coaches fault, others that it is the players fault. That sentence can be flipped to read either way.
Watched Mark Richt for many years, he was once upon a time, an offensive coordinator. Why did he stop doing that for UGA, and the players that sign on, and pass the duties off to MB? Because he thought that MB was qualified? He also thought that WM and others last season were qualified, wonder how that turned out. How many folks think that WM stayed on the payroll too long?
Let's give CTG the same leeway that we gave MR, MB, or WM and look at the results. He is an ass kicker, not someone that Mama's and Papa's might like to have coach their son. Not realizing that CTG will toughen them up, teach them how to play not only on the college level . . . . the pro level also. I believe that.
Some of the better head coaches that I can think of quickly . . . Saban, Meyer and the beat goes on. The SEC plays defense, not noted for offense. Therein might be the answer as to why we are slipping. No, did not start with CTG. CTG left the Cowboys and their defense has gone to heck. I would seriously support CTG as the next head coach at UGA.
Mark Richt has had ten years, the last 5 or 6 are not getting better, think that all of us can agree with that. To hell with the coaching, why are we having the SAME PROBLEMS continue year after year. Don't give a damn about UF and Meyer having player problems, they apparently can work through them and kick our ass. EVERY YEAR.
Mark Richt offered these players scholarships. If they break down, can't follow assignments, it falls on both. Guess what . . . . Mark Richt is responsible for both. Leadership of an entire program is probably not his strong suit. I think that he would make a really good offensive coordinator again. . . .
UGA needs leadership.
