This is what is going to crawl up my butt. Coach Richt is going to come out in his post game conference and tell us how hard the team played and how our team will prepare for the next game.

If any of us believe in the star ratings . . . . . what the hell is going on at UGA.

How can UGA not play on prime time TV and slip into nothing TV so quickly? Am I wrong, are so many of us wrong to ask that question . . .

Coach Mark Richt let the program get away from him. If you or me, wait for things to get better, might not be the way that the cooke crumbles. Coach Richt does not have a grip on the way UGA football will take us into the future. I believe that.

I have listened to all of the chirp as to how Coach Richt is going to keep all of the solid football players in the state. Come the first of the year, guess that will be a topic of discussion.

Might be a good time for Coach Richt to take a good look as to whether he wants to coach college football or move on. He has a nice record, but hear what I have to say, the competition is not the same as it was in 2001.

As you would say BUMP!!

Think it was duck who said we might go 2-10 this year - unfortunatly I could see that might happen as well - have not seen this much apathy on a dawg team in a while - am thankfull to CMR for taking us from the pretenders to contenders for a few years - but think he's just lost control - another one arrested this weekend - just too much like fsu for the last 10 years - and I do realize we are not the only ones who have problems - look at ND - how many changes have they gone thru and still aren't competitive yet - guess ADMcG is thinking - what have I gotten myself into - maybe things behind the sceans were already coming apart and we just didn't see it - was hoping that CTG could help change things but apparently the problems are a lot bigger than I thought

RabunDog, back at you. Bump. . . .

Somehow don't think that our latest efforts on the field of play will pass the "fan/alumni/media/blog test". The time for holding hands moved past this group about 5 years ago. Meaning, that is where the real slippage started to show its ugly head.

All of us have supported Coach Richt, from the beginning. Not only vocal support, but those dollars that he is putting his pocket, come from you and I. At some point the bleeding has to stop, appears that we don't know where the shut off valve is. Started as a small leak, but over the years it has become more like "Old Faithful" . . . . a gusher.

A major difference between UGA and Notre Dame. Notre Dame goes back to the day when a simple thing like a "forward pass" changed the game of football. American football. Win, lose or draw, Notre Dame will always be at the head of the class. If Kelly turns the program around in Indiana, the coffers will fill as never before. For many years Notre Dame has not "really" had a program that competes year after year. Like for instance, USC, Texas, Oklahoma, and no I sure as heck did not forget BAMA.

So, what does it come down to? I know what I think, and that is COACHING. The game of football changes from time to time.

Many on this board probably have never heard the term or understand "single wing". Some of the variations of the "single wing" are being called names like . . . . we all get the point. Both pro and college, and not to forget high school and Pee Wee football are using variations of the "single wing".

Went through a phase of "wishbone". Why do I mention formations? Because we have settled into a pro-style offense, with little or no imagination. Easy to plan for teams like UGA. Sure as hell is going to either ruin or get AM killed. He is not a strict pocket passer.

Wake up Coach Richt, this young man does not need to be brought back into the times that you and MB played football. Turn AM loose and correct "certain" things around him. Like what? OK. Ealey fumbling, backs that don't block, like Ealey. If this is the best that we have, same dude that wrecks cars, has problems in high school with teachers, etc etc . . . Probably wrong to call young men out, but facts are facts.

Using up too much space on this site, will leave with this . . .

Bring a coach like Mike Leach into a State like Georgia, with all of the talent it has to offer. This coach would totally light up UGA as never before. Coach Leach and others like him do not think that three yards and a cloud of dust work.

There are other options to using a spread QB in a pro style offense, somehow our coaching staff does not recognize this. This is not ROCKET SCIENCE, it is called COACHING. Do I believe what I just typed . . . HELL YES!

Go Dawgs (with imagination)!!

Guys, I really am speechless. I tried to get on and figure out a way to get this thing turned around, and I truly have nothing. I have always been a huge CMR backer, but I cannot, even now with a sane mind, think the man is doing a half way decent job.

Buc, there is one point that you brought up that I think is a great point. The SEC is no longer at the talent level that they were in 2001. Not to mention that Ron Zook and Mike Shula are no longer coaching in the SEC.

Same question entered my mind:

Was Richt ever really that good of a coach, or did he just happen to take over at UGA when UF was weakening with Zook, and UT was heading for what the currently are? Now everyone else is getting better in this conference, and we are significantly getting worse.

As always, GO DAWGS.

As I have said also on previous threads, I don't think any of us know what to do, why, because CMR is not willing to change. I said on another treat, I just read in the Macon paper, where CMR said he will make no coaching changes, and CMB will continue to call plays. He did say that he may look and player changes, but to make changes in mid stream will just make things worse. His famous guote, we must stay the course. This is one stubborn man and refuses to change until made to do so, he want even come up with 2 or 3 more Off plays to run.

Very good points on Ron Zook and Mike Shula. Spot on AllDawgs5.

This question posed by you made me stop and think.

Was Richt ever really that good of a coach, or did he just happen to take over at UGA when UF was weakening with Zook, and UT was heading for what the currently are? Now everyone else is getting better in this conference, and we are significantly getting worse.

When Coach Richt was at FSU, he had some of if not the best talent in the country. All CMR had to do at that point was run that offense. Meaning play calling. Year after year top talent entered the FSU program, and year after year they had problems with discipline like we are having now. It is almost as if then and now have been cut by the same cookie cutter.

One of the problems that we are having now I think stems from past coaching practices. We were having far too many injuries, and the team eased up on tackling drills etc. While the players were putting up huge numbers in the weight room, they were not getting fundamental football practice. No doubt in my mind. A lot of the questions at that time were being deflected to the folks running the weight room. They don't tackle in the weight room. They apparently were doing a lot of flexing. However, we have been told that we do not understand football. . . .

Read elsewhere that Ray Drew is now questioning if UGA is the way for him to go. This can be expected when a team does not perform. We are not performing. What happened to the fence around the State of Georgia? We all love a winner, but we also have a right to question what we are "not seeing" on the football field.

Go Dawgs . . . maybe change directions . . . .

This the piece that I referred to about Ray Drew.

Ray Drew posted the following on his Facebook page last night. Many interpret it as a move away from UGA:

Ray Drew i really dont know what to think....im seriously starting to rethink this thing

In reference to Ray Drew, Buc, get used to it. I foresee quite a few verbals wavering and even some de-commits due to Richt's unwillingness to adapt. Who would want to board this train wreck?

The SMART era CONTINUES!!!!!!
