RabunDog, back at you. Bump. . . .
Somehow don't think that our latest efforts on the field of play will pass the "fan/alumni/media/blog test". The time for holding hands moved past this group about 5 years ago. Meaning, that is where the real slippage started to show its ugly head.
All of us have supported Coach Richt, from the beginning. Not only vocal support, but those dollars that he is putting his pocket, come from you and I. At some point the bleeding has to stop, appears that we don't know where the shut off valve is. Started as a small leak, but over the years it has become more like "Old Faithful" . . . . a gusher.
A major difference between UGA and Notre Dame. Notre Dame goes back to the day when a simple thing like a "forward pass" changed the game of football. American football. Win, lose or draw, Notre Dame will always be at the head of the class. If Kelly turns the program around in Indiana, the coffers will fill as never before. For many years Notre Dame has not "really" had a program that competes year after year. Like for instance, USC, Texas, Oklahoma, and no I sure as heck did not forget BAMA.
So, what does it come down to? I know what I think, and that is COACHING. The game of football changes from time to time.
Many on this board probably have never heard the term or understand "single wing". Some of the variations of the "single wing" are being called names like . . . . we all get the point. Both pro and college, and not to forget high school and Pee Wee football are using variations of the "single wing".
Went through a phase of "wishbone". Why do I mention formations? Because we have settled into a pro-style offense, with little or no imagination. Easy to plan for teams like UGA. Sure as hell is going to either ruin or get AM killed. He is not a strict pocket passer.
Wake up Coach Richt, this young man does not need to be brought back into the times that you and MB played football. Turn AM loose and correct "certain" things around him. Like what? OK. Ealey fumbling, backs that don't block, like Ealey. If this is the best that we have, same dude that wrecks cars, has problems in high school with teachers, etc etc . . . Probably wrong to call young men out, but facts are facts.
Using up too much space on this site, will leave with this . . .
Bring a coach like Mike Leach into a State like Georgia, with all of the talent it has to offer. This coach would totally light up UGA as never before. Coach Leach and others like him do not think that three yards and a cloud of dust work.
There are other options to using a spread QB in a pro style offense, somehow our coaching staff does not recognize this. This is not ROCKET SCIENCE, it is called COACHING. Do I believe what I just typed . . . HELL YES!
Go Dawgs (with imagination)!!
