Disipline problems?

60 (ugh)

A week and one day away from 62, going on 15, according to my better half.

You guys have taken me all the way back to Commerce Junior High School.

1. You could get your ass paddled good at school. Teacher or principal.

2. Being cool was having a car and going to the Dairy Queen on one end of town then cruise through town a few times.

3. Having an after school job was desirable so you had money to spend.

4. Sneaking a beer or cigarette was occasional and not excessive.

5. Good character meant a lot. Loose it and you are a looser.

6. Going to school and church was not optional.

Times change. I wish it was 1957 again.

Age 26., but parents were the same way. It didn't take me long to figure out that wooden board with the handle and holes can be a real attention getter. Pretty sure that my brother and I would still try if we saw that board.

Many of my teachers used to have the paddle board hanging in the room and some of the boards had nick names. I wish I could remember the names. Anyone remember the padde nick names?

And you could hear kids getting their ass whooped in the hall. Scary. The entire school straightened up a few notches when that happened.
