kentdaddy, if this defense improves say . . . 20% more, this bunch could cause a lot of problems. CTG will not rest with the score today, he was livid when the pass flew over Rambo's head and they scored. Looked a lot like a blown assignment, which is understandable at this point in the season. One thing I did like kentdaddy, coach was pissed, but teammates were not finger pointing. They went out and picked off a couple passes. To me, that is impressive. They now have some real game time film to watch, regardless of the competition.

Yep.

I saw some great fundamentals. I saw some intensity. I saw relentless pursuit of the QB or the ball. Theses things have been missing for a while.

It appears Butler had a horrible game though. He only averaged 47.3 yards per punt.

Here's what I saw. Mason's HUGE grin. I would too.

Oline needs work, for that much experience, too much pressure on Murry. Murry done good for his first game as a dawg. Tight ends, especially Charles coming back to help the QB, need more of that this year. Need to be more crisp on offense, especially O line on running plays.

Defensively I LOVE Grantham! GATA! Man has my vote. Defensively need to get off the blocks quicker. Need to get to the QB, more pressure please.

Otherwise it was a good effort, but still need to improve and get ready to BBQ some chicken next week!

Looked like a pretty good game to me. The offense started a little slow (still not sold on CMB's play calling) but without AJG, TK, and WE, certainly understandable. The D looked awesome to me. AM's int before their score certainly wasn't his fault, he couldn't have thrown that pass any better.

BUMP!!

sadlerdawg, looking forward to next week. How impressive is our punting and kicking game? wow :woohoo:

What I had hopped for - smacked um and played a lot of guys

had a couple of let downs - 60yd td and those back to back penalties

Murray did GREAT - worry about him running - did good - but don't want to do much of that against SEC teams

Defense was GREAT - 3 picks(1td) - one hiccup - but that’s ok - got to see CTG's exhibit some fire - think he wanted a shut out

Running game was OK - not where we need to be

Special teams - great as expected except that one kickoff coverage

All in all I was very pleased

Guy’s it’s going to be a real war next week

GO DAWGS

Mentioned a few times that I watched AM in high school, also mentioned that he has "wheels". While the coaches may not want AM to do a lot of that, it is in his blood. He is who he is. Smart young man, knows the playbook inside out, knows where every player on the offensive side of the ball should line up and what their duties are.

Personally, think that the Gamecocks scouting the game today saw more than maybe they had hoped for. AM has the ability to escape. Do I think he is going to look awful at some point and make all of us throw or want to throw something, yep. If South Carolina does not protect the edge, they are in for a long day.

Ugly pass AM threw into the end zone and their player dropped the ball. Next thing I do is compare that play with some of the other plays the offense made. Remember this, AM will run the ball and that is going to be a hard thing for CMR/CMB to break. Fran was a pretty good scrambler, won a lot of games, had a noodle arm compared to AM. I will take my chances with AM and the way he runs the offense.
