Gonna be a long season dawgs

Halftime. Not impressed. Too many penalties already. Aaron's thrown a pick and threw what should have been another one. We play like this against South Carolina and Arkansas we'll lose both. Penalties have killed us the past couple seasons and todays game shows no signs of that trend reversing.

No way. Not biting on this mentality this season. A freshman quarterback ought to have a few hiccups in his first game. To expect perfection is rediculous. Penalties...they happen, and they'll be addressed. But penalties are the cost of aggressive play. The season will be exactly 11 games. Nobody is under the illusion we'll win them all, but this team is light years ahead of last year's team, and I for one will take an improvement over that team, thank you very much. Good practice game, Dawgs.

I am going to offer some push back as well.

The big thing I noticed was disciplined, focused defense with the lone exception of their scoring play.

As an example remember when we kicked off and their guy fumbled the ball in the 3rd quarter. Our guy went down and showed great discipline by not diving wildly or over committing. He just hunkered down and made the runner commit and then he made a great tackle. I saw plenty of great tackling.

There were some bad decisions on offense, but that is to be expected.

Overall I was pleased but specifically the defense looked great.

Looked like a pretty good game to me. The offense started a little slow (still not sold on CMB's play calling) but without AJG, TK, and WE, certainly understandable. The D looked awesome to me. AM's int before their score certainly wasn't his fault, he couldn't have thrown that pass any better.

Hard for me to believe anyone could forecast the season with 1/2 being played. Impressed with the defense, especially the DB's. In no way did this defense or the DB's look anything like WM's defense and more to the point, the DB's. Even with WM we got 8 wins, think what I saw today was more than a 8 win team.

AM, or last years QB? Not a slap at Cox, just a fact in print.

Yes.

That defense was already miles ahead of last years in terms of discipline, focus and tackling.
