Looking Ahead

USC game is the shining key to our season.

The USCeast game is the (early) key to the season. Lose to the Cocks and the CMR hot seat crowd wil start to resemble villagers with torches and pitchforks. A win only gets the Dawgs to the next test. However, a quality win - one with a GATA defense and solid O-line play - will catapult the team into the national spotlight. Then Arkansas...

Agree that SC is usually a test, have a feeling that they are going to be looking into the teeth of a serious storm this time. Said before, SS needs a genuine Dawg butt kicking, much like the one administered to us in Athens. Folks here in Florida were really hard to deal with after SS had his storm troops march through Athens.

I'm not one that thinks you have to run the score up (needlessly) in most situations, however if we have a chance and it presents itself, SS needs to be paid back. Know that running the scores up seem to elevate certain schools closer to the BCS. Doing that can also cost a team down the road, some folks have long memories. I have a long memory of SS and his attitude when he coached UF.

Everyday I read more positive quotes about UGA football and the recent changes. Last year it was like looking at the obit column in the newspaper. We have TALENT in Athens.

What I meant by that was if we lost to USC it could develope into a downward spiral, another 8-5 season. THE critical game of the entire season.

Also don't believe that if we lost that CMR would be on any hot seat. He has made the necessary changes and I think the results will be seen starting the second half of 2010, in 2011 and beyond. That said, a good 2010 depends on the USC game....imo.

(also believe the win needs to be convincing)

Afternoon, Great stuff just keeps coming on this blog.Word from campus is AM has found a stride now that he can be himself and just have fun playing football. Gone is all the carping about ZM and LG he just has to play sound football. If it was baseball he no longer feels the need to swing for the fence every time. With this \"O\" line run first make them stack the box and then play action will be lights out. Bring the mind set of the Tech game 11 runs eat clock make first downs,no flags.
