Oh, me too! What a 'Smart' choice it would be to dawn the Red & Black again. Either Kirby or Bumpas are my top two choices, as I've stated before. I'll be happy as long as it's not a no name person. GO DAWGS!TDD, hope it comes wrapped in a \"crimson\" bow !!!

Another update speculation........Al Groh is now in the mix.
Name
Al Groh Current Job
None Col/NFL/T/Age
25/13/38/65 College
Virginia Hometown
New York City
BRIEF: Groh has as strong a resume as any coach can have. Formerly the head coach of the New York Jets, he won a Super Bowl with the New York Giants and spent 10 years working with Bill Parcells. As a collegiate coach he was named the 2002 and 2007 Atlantic Coast Conference Coach of the Year while at the University of Virginia. He has also been a coach with the Atlanta Falcons, the Cleveland Browns and even spent a year as the offensive coordinator at South Carolina. Groh spent six years as the head coach at Wake Forest and nine years as the head coach at Virginia.
COMMENT: Groh is probably best known defensively for putting in the 3-4 defense at Virginia. He apparently runs the defense just like he did in the NFL. He has coached the defensive line and linebackers and has worked with the likes of Bill Belichick. He was recently released by Virginia after going 3-9 this year. Insiders at Virginia tell us Groh's reputation as a great defensive coach is well deserved, but that he tried to micro-manage everything. They feel a defensive coordinator position would be perfect for him. - Radi Nabulsi

Also, I dont know how reputable footballcoachscoop is, but they have said CMR has had contact w/ Kevin Steele from Clemson, and Sal Sunseri(Bama linebacker coach) regarding the open position.

Believe Steele may be out after GT ran rampant over Clemson in the ACC CG.

I have heard strong rumor here in South Cackalacky that Steele is the choice. It seems as though the selection has been made even though CMR does not out right say that. It would also fit the time line that has been suggested. I am not sure he would be the right choice but he definitely would have a jump start to our recruiting areas.
