You guys were actually pretty kind and I have to agree, the fact that CWM didn't change the defense during the Tech game was ridiculous. Even I could have called better plays from my living room against the Triple Option.

Hey, if CWM needs some letters of praise, I could certainly come up with many reasons why he'd be the perfect fit in Miami. I mean, Miami would be crazy not to take him...come on canes, the clock is ticking, it's a once in a lifetime chance to get an utterly amazing coach. Like many of us here have said, no expense should be spared on CWM...ignore the man behind the curtain...okay, scratch the last part, I'm just giddy at the prospects.

I am one of the few if not the only regular member on here that has yet to say \"Fire Willie\" (in so many words) and though I DO indeed find fault w/him at times, I'm not gonna say it just yet. Still, since these rumors have surfaced, I think it is an interesting discussion. So, my question for the forum is:
WHO YALL THINK WE SHOULD GET IF MIAMI TAKES COACH WILLIE?

I really like wlayton's suggestion of getting Kirby Smart away from Nick Satan and back Btw. the Hedges. Also, Rodney Garner is definitely OVERdue for a promotion but is he now content in his new role?

Other names I can think of off the top of my head:

Bud Foster (Could he be lured away from Va. Tech? It might be awfully difficult but MY GOSH, predicting that the Hokies will have a hard-nosed, hard-hitting, ball-hawking defense is as sure a thing as predicting hot Summers in GA)

Tommy Tuberville (I know, he could be a Head Coach somewhere else but this gets him back in the SEC and he would have an annual game in which to stick it to Auburn)

Charlie Strong (I know, he's a Gator but he's a helluva a recruiter and from the results I've seen in Gainesville, he can obviously coach em' up too)

John Tenuta (Former NATS DC, now at Notre Dame, but I always loved his aggressive, attacking defenses)

Joe Kines (A BAMA man through & through; currently at Texas A&M as the DC but talk about bringing YEARS of experience at both the college and pro levels; his best years maybe behind him?)

Thoughts on this list?
Any other names?

Okay, I will probably get crucified for asking this but what about the great job the defense did last year in the Sugar Bowl, would you not give some of the credit to Willie?

I am ready for the tongue lashing.

Are you serious? First it was against hawaii and this years bowl win was against a bad big 10 team, look at the defensive output, every year it has gotten worse since van gorder left. Hell he was supposed to be the secondary mastermind but that is our biggest weakness, our defensive backs play 10-15 yards off the line every play and gives up easy 10 yard gains on first down. God, wake up, we had a worse defense than auburn last year!

I know in atlanta buck belue on the buck and kincaide show on 680 has given all the message board posters and bloggers crap but its pretty damn clear that willie martinez is fing horrible.

We could put anyone in that position and would do a better job than willie.

palmdawg, it wasn't that willie DIDN'T change the d at halftime against gtech, it was that he DID change it. we held them to 12 points and had a 16 point lead at half. what was the problem??? know what i mean?
