So........where are we next year?

Cox may surprise a few people.
Sometimes the less gifted QBs have the power to lead a team to championships, i.e. Tee Martin and Chris Leake.
The problems are on defense and special teams. We need some top notch defensive recruits and a coach who can coach 'em up.
GO DAWGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our offense has more talent than our defense. The offense does not need to compile stats. The offense needs to control the tempo of the game. They need to make sure that our defenders are able to operate in short, intense bursts. Quite frankly, the talent isn't there for them to stay on the field for long periods of time. Bobo's offense is straight out of the 90's. It is a vertically oriented game that tries to draw db's forward by attacking the line of scrimmage and then throw over their heads.

If you're going to stack the lion's share of talent on offense then the offense must also accept the burden of helping to improve defensive stats. I did not see that. I saw an offense loaded with grade A talent getting B results while leaving their defense stranded on an island. It has been that way ever since Richt turned the offense over to Bobo. Superior talent delivering mediocre results. I don't demand winning but I do demand good coaching. I don't see it. I see penalties. I see mental mistakes. I see poor gameplans. I see a gifted QB who doesn't look like anyone is teaching him how to go through his progressions or read a defense. Sorry. Great talent producing mediocre results. That's what I see.

My opinions are quite contrary to popular beliefs but nonetheless I think they are just as valid ... if not a little more (I am biased).

2. Staford isn't leaving. He has a great arm but has not demonstrated very much leadership or ability to read defenses and make proper adjustments. He would be hurting his own NFL career to leave at this time.

3. There's nothing wrong with Martinez. College football is in turmoil on defense. The spread offense requires a different type of defense and a different blend of defensive talent. The entire NCAA is going through an adjustment period.

so, there it is. as a bulldog fan I needed to get that off my chest. Thanks for your time.

Stafford is gone, not even a second thought, hell he will get drafted in the top 10 and probably top 5 if he has a good capital one game and he has demonstrated leadership, hell he brought the team back a couple of times.

And there is nothing wrong with martinez? Are you crazy? The D has went from one of the best before he took over to the 2nd worse in the SEC last year, his schemes are giving up 25+ points a game so to say there is nothing wrong with him is outright lunacy. We scored 42 points against GT and lost, let that sink in, we scored the most points against tech since 2002 and lost cause he couldnt stop the run, something we all knew tech was going to do that game.

Hes Fing pathetic and willie should have been gone last year.

wow, you think highly of Stafford. I wouldn't pick him in first round much less top 5. How do you know at this point in time if his lack of mental acuity is from coaching or genetics? If he plays another year he would have a chance to prove that he has the mental acumen to play at next level.

and - I did not say Martinez was a good coach, or a bad coach. I don't think he has had very good talent to work with and i don't think the talent rich offense gave him adequate support. All things considered, I think it would be unwise to push him out at this time. The spread offense has defense all over the country in turmoil. Like everything it goes in cycles. I think we want to hit the DC cycle in 2-3 years, not now, not yet.

Have you seen draft projections? He is usually the 3rd or 4th player taken in the first round, scouts love his arm strength and his ability to roll out like matt ryan. With the rookie salary cap coming soon most players will be gone this year, if you have any draft value you would be crazy not to leave.

Well, good thing I'm not a scout. I'd give it a 50/50 shot that he can handle the mental aspect of being NFL QB.
