them a bit. Each event on it's own was not something to cause the turn on IC. It was a cumulative
affect of all those things combined, each adding another pile of dirt. He is unwilling to commit
to the negative attitude to IC as being fair or unfair, but I do not suffer from that same
lack of commitment.
Look at this comment..
"If another player was trying to play through the pain of an injury, he would’ve been celebrated for trying to gut it out."
True, but it's probably also true that the "other player" he would be talking about would not have
been suspended for dope, missed classes, taking himself out of almost every game we had the entire
season, been benched as starter for a couple of games, etc etc.
Now he also says what is lost in this is that we are talking about 18 year old kids. I agree completely with the gist of that comment, but what he fails to note is that other 18 year old
kids do not display those same issues and IC is going to be compared to that standard. Yes 18
year olds are going to make mistakes, but given my preference I would like to begin with 18
year olds that already have a clear enough head on their shoulders to avoid the IC issues
noted above.
Plus while it's not fair to stereotype a person, as each situation has it's own unique setting
and reasons... but some of us have seen this movie before. We know the likely ending.
IC's future is not our decision, so in that regard we are just voicing opinion. An opinion
that states pretty fairly how we feel this record will end if it continues to play as it
has.
