I agree, the look on fat Phil's face at the end of the SC game was not one of joy of winning but rather one of relief of keeping his rather shaky job. I don't know how they spanked us. Go Dawgs!

Two weeks off is why they spanked us.......it's BIG to have two weeks off, we should do it EVERY year before UF.

AverageDawg said (in reference to UT):
On defense, we attacked the Gator Nation; not just the offense...we attacked the field itself...on offense, we did not let up. We scored; they scored; we scored; they scored, etc. Finally, they collapsed. We never gave up or gave in. Against UT, we tried; we played hard, but we played listless, bend-but, passive, \"well I'm gonna tackle somebody if they come near my zone\" kind of defense. As so many of us have said on this forum and on others, that will not cut it in the SEC!
It's almost hard to believe that the same team could play so differently against similar opponents in the same season unless it had suffered a rash of injuries or half the team had contracted the Nile Virus!
Have you noticed how good you feel today?
That statement made me stop and think (as previously mentioned, being borderline retarded, this does not happen too often). In comparing that game to THE GAME, what comes to mind? Just looking back on the two contests in my mind's eye, it seems like they were complete opposites of each other. Not simply in the final outcomes, but in the level of intensity with which the games were approached and played.I don't know how they spanked us. Go Dawgs!

We used to have every week off before the game in Jax when Dooley was head coach, don't know why they changed it.

Need to change it BACK. The SEC is just too physical and the UF game is THE most important one (at least to most).

The schools don't control their SEC schedules. From what I understand, the SEC schedules all SEC intraconference games. Once scheduled, two or more years in advance, the schools can lobby for changes, but have no real authority to make changes. That could explain some of the strange happenings with the schedule.
