Yay, there's one more thing that I actually knew (about broadcasting the Falcons)

I remember him calling out \"Shotgun, red gun, the snap...\" in the early '90s.

BTW, he never actually got to broadcast for the Braves. He was hired by WSB, but upon arriving saw an ad saying that they were looking to replace Ed Thilenius (good catch, Miss_uga, I had no idea he had come down with throat cancer!) and interviewed for that. So he actually came to Atlanta but never called a Braves game!

What call nearly got Larry banned from the airwaves? Quote it, give the game (team/year) and the play on which it happened.

I've got something I want you to read, but I don't want to upset the Admin. Can I post a link to an article off of an AM radio station?? I thought for sure Munson had something to do with the broadcasting for at least one season with the Braves, so I had to research and I found something that I found pretty interesting.

Post it. I've always heard the story one way, so if I'm wrong I'd love to be corrected.

Okay, turns out I heard the story correctly but interpreted it incorrectly.

I knew Larry came to Atlanta in 1966, and I knew that he took the Georgia job in '66 as well. I failed to recognize that the baseball season starts in April, whereas football starts in September. So yes, Larry did call Braves games in 1966 and 1966 alone.

Rats. I hate it when I catch myself talking out of my rear orifice.
