Which Georgia football player was commemorated by the presentation of a bronze plaque to the University of Virginia?
What, in particular, was the commemoration about?
What was the contribution of this players mother to football in the South?

That would be Gammon. It was given commemorating his death. His mom pretty much saved football for us, because the Senate and Legislature was passing some kind of bill to prohibit football at all the colleges/universities in the state. She wrote a letter to the Governor at the time asking them not to ban the most important and cherished thing in her late son's life. For those of you who didn't know, Gammon was fatally injured during the UGA/UV game of 1897.

I want to say 29. Could be wrong, but I'm locking in my answer.

29 is correct. #47 broke that record with 32.

Vonalbade Gammon. Young man broke his neck and died during a game, prompting the Georgia legislature to pursue banning football (along with a lot of other states). Gammon's mother wrote a letter begging them not to do so, and football in the South was saved.

What brought Larry Munson from Nashville (and Vanderbilt) to the state of Georgia?

He was broadcasting for the Braves when the current UGA announcer,Thilenius (spelling??), came down with throat cancer. He took over and has been Bulldawg through and through ever since.

Did you know that at one time he did play-by-play radio broadcasting for the Falcons?? My brother didn't believe me.
