Congratulations to Sam. Huge loss for UGA.

I will say this - it's not often that you see an OL coach go straight to the HC position. I hope Sam is up for it. There's a lot of pressure to win at the Pig Palace.

Wish him all the best. He solved a problem that we as UGA fans had been talking about for ages - offensive line.

He'll go down with Coach Pruitt as a DGD.

The hits keep on comin' boys.

Spot on mentioning Jeremy Pruitt along with Sam Pittman, SouthernDawg. Both had positive effects on our program, while managing to upset Greg McGarity.

Shannon good to hear from you again.

Little doubt that Sam Pittman had conversation with Kirby Smart as far back as the firing of then head coach Chad Morris of Arkansas. Arkansas dialed Pittman's number, it was the first and last number they made. Arkansas finally got this hiring of head coaches right. Took them a while, but they succeeded when Sam Pittman said he would accept. I believe Kirby was notified by Sam that he was sure he was leaving prior to the Auburn game.

I now have a new favorite in the West side of the SEC. Coach Pittman while having a great public relations side for FANS, he also has a very serious side when it comes to recruiting and coaching. My opinion, Coach Sam Pittman will hire the coaching staff that is sorely needed. He has been around the block more than once, has made many friends and that at some point becomes a plus when taking over a SEC football program. Orgeron did the same thing at LSU. LSU further along talent wise when Orgeron arrived than the Razorbacks are with Pittman's arrival. Will be interesting watching Coach Pittman put the pieces together in Fayetteville. Sam Pittman is a "class act".
