GAME DAY: SECCG: ALABAMA VS. GEORGIA BULLDOGS

Kirby might want to understand that along with gains, more times than not there are set backs. College football no different than the business world. Kirby's approach to smoothing over this major snafu will not go away until he realizes that he did not invent the wheel (think Al Gore did that along with the internet). Following Saban's system at some point has draw backs, believe it or not.

#53 played his butt off against Alabama. I watched every time the camera had him in the picture . . . . he had a "great" game blocking the #1 stud on the Alabama defensive front. Fromm did not complete his passes on "touch" alone . . . . offensive line was damn sure doing their job, Kirby should take heed and do some "soul searching".

Well I never said I expected to actually hear him say that. So what I was really saying was "I don't want to hear what you are saying, Kirby".

On a positive side....

Remember back around the LSU game when there were folk saying things like "Fromm really wasn't all that"?

I do.... but I hope no one is foolish enough to
utter those words ever again. Fromm and a lot of other players outplayed the #1 team in the nation all night long.

The sad thing is that we DO have one of the top 4 teams in the nation. Coaching however knocked us below that level.

I'm not going to be mad at any process or
selection committee when we don't make the CFB playoffs this year. It was our job to secure that spot.... we had it secured... and we gave it away.

That's on us, no one else.

God Bless and Go Dawgs

I want to be positive. That team SHOULD have won that game yesterday. There's no two ways about it. I know this isn't much of a consolation, but Alabama didn't win that game - Georgia gave it to them.

That said - I'll go out on a limb and say we're going to get the #4 spot. And be prepared for the college football world, led by UCF, to be ready to torch the whole thing to the ground.

If a one loss power 5 conference champion doesn't get in over a two loss non conference champion, then they will need to admit that they need to scrap the system. This isn't judging two one loss teams like it was with Alabama last year.

I don't think they will allow the sort of chaos that would ensue if this happened.

And that would be the best thing possible because this system is beyond ridiculous at this point. Anything that can happen to bring further heat and attention on its lack of tenability is a good thing in my eyes. If they're going to run a playoff, it needs to be a world different from how it is structured right now.

If UGA gets in and brings fire to the CFP structure, then I'll drink to that.

EDIT

And to add to that, at this point, I'm getting real chummy with the idea of the SEC just breaking away from Division 1 FBS structure and just playing in its own league. But that's a conversation for another day.
