Hey, happy New Years to all the members of dawgs.com! :)

Going to put a Boston butt on smoker late this evening for all night cooking. Got a bottle of TOPO bourbon for sipping. Not usually a whiskey drinker, but it’s going to be awfully cold out.

I’ll be rooting for you guys tomorrow. Wearing my new uga hat.

Again... “you guys”

Scooby isn’t a UGA fan. Never has been.

God Bless and Go Dawgs

I remember not too long ago there were some here talking about how Butch was going to right that UT ship and be tough competition for UGA for the forseeable future.

What happened?

Well I wish CJP all the personal luck in the world, I am very glad that UT is a dumpster fire right now. If he rights that ship more power too him, but it’s not going to be easy. Maybe at the least he can get something done about that cow pasture they call a field.

God Bless and Go Dawgs

Pruitt learns all of the "ins and outs" sitting at the top. Much like the young men who choose to play for him, they also have to learn a "new game", high school ain't college. Any success as a head coach will play big when the time comes for him to move on. Good post ogredawg.

The absolute TRUTH. Copied from the article below. Good read if you have not done so. When I see and read the word "foundation" I think of your Dad Wartdawg and a conversation we had some time back.

For years, Richt focused on the attractive part of football: Skill positions. The SEC isn’t won on the outside though. It’s won in the trenches. It’s won with the foundation, and Georgia has more than just built that foundation.

What happened is that Butch completely lost control of the program. The pressure of the SEC is no joke, the expectations are real, and despite the fact that I do believe Butch knows the game of football and given the right opportunity could very well do big things, he just totally lost control of the program. When you've got players fighting during practice to the point that players are sustaining injuries and you have to go lie about it to the media - there's no greater sign that you have utterly lost control of the program.

Infighting, dissension amongst the staff, disillusioned players, continual suspensions, are the hallmark signs of a sinking ship. None of which reflects on Butch's football knowledge, but does absolutely reveal that he did not have the administrative discipline to run UT's program.

That, far more than his football knowledge and coaching ability, sunk him.

We talk a lot on here about "buy in." Buy in is real and the players quit buying in about 2 seasons ago.

That was the beginning of the end.
