SouthernDawg posted . . . .
Take this to the bank - even without JP's recruits this coming year, the product he'll put on the field is going to be light years better than what brick-by-brick Butch Jones put on the field. I think he'll have them playing ball in short order.
Pruitt understands what is facing him in Knoxville. As laid out by SouthernDawg, this is a 180 degree move at the top. Some of the first words out of Pruitt's mouth when he signed on with Georgia . . . . My door is always open to the players. He also slammed the door shut in Richt and McGarity's face. Jeremy Pruitt is a stand up guy/coach. Comes from a football background that is just that . . . . football background.
Repeating what SD said above . . . . Pruitt can recruit with the best, has done so at Alabama, FSU and Georgia. Not sure how much talent resides in Knoxville before Pruitt, do know that will change now that Pruitt is there. Would be hard for anyone to change my mind concerning Jeremy Pruitt and his time in Athens, the value of same.Had Kirby Smart not had one foot in the door in Columbia, South Carolina, Gamecocks would be reaping some of the benefits that we now enjoy. Not a doubt in my mind about that statement. Like it or not, these head coaches in the East learned a lot from Nick Saban. Saban has the type personality that "demands" rather than "requests".
Stop with this . . . . Jeremy Pruitt will not be pushed around by the Athletic Director. Vols need someone that understands football, my opinion they have the right man. Look forward to the competition, and that will happen. SEC has needed some change and that is happening now, especially the East.
