Recruiting for the 2018 Class has yet to get the final stamp of approval, or otherwise.
Beginning to think that I am again seeing some of the Alabama efforts make its way into Georgia. Many universities open up quickly in the recruiting area when the media likes to hand out "stars". Public relations work that way.
Many years under Nick Saban, Alabama would not be the highest "media rated" recruiting force until . . . . the closing period when those that had committed "silently" changed Alabama from number 10 or 15 to number 1.
Single largest thought in my mind at this point, Red and Black are going to move up at a fast pace and probably end up with a "media" based top ten or fifteen rating at the end of the LOI's.
2017 group of players have had a huge effect on who will and won't play/sign for UGA. Said on this board before, young pups looking for playing time, not two years down the road but immediately. BMOC in high school does not take into consideration that they are basically "battling" to be one of the 25 or so that a university will select. New recruiting laws handed down by the NCAA will definitely change the direction of many young men when it comes to selection.
Regardless of how many "stars" sign on, still comes down to the coaching staff. I like "most" of the coaches I see on this coaching staff, there are some exceptions. Second year under Coach Smart, believe he has to have a clear vision of what is necessary for our team to "take the next needed step". Also say this again, many questions will be answered in 2017.
Know many folks in the business world that were not overly successful in their first year. Also know some of the same folks that became "very successful" in a short period after the first or second year.
