I'm just not ready to fire the entire staff and start over after 8 games when we knew we had some big issues going in to the season.

I respect that wart. We have quite a few 4* OL along with a 5* riding the pine. Obviously this group of 4* along with 1 transfer OL starting group is not getting the job done. Had 2 weeks to correct it and because of a stubborn and weak HC NOTHING changes. Sony touched the ball 4 times Chubb 9 and IMac ZERO.

Kirby was asked what he was going to do about it and his answer was "We are going to get ready to play Kentucky". So in other words NOTHING. Stubborn is not coaching.

Our HC has proven he is not the sharpest knife in the drawer and get ready for the same next week. Sigh

What's really sad is this..... I didn't even cuss, well not much, while the Dawgs were looking so inept. The offense is dreadful. Chubb is being hit in the backfield on every run. The play calling seems to be the SOS series after series. Is our play book so limited, or is the knowledge of the QB that limited...? I'm probably one of the few who thought Lambert should've been the starter, and let Eason grow into the role as he learns more. What about getting the ball to all of these 'playmakers' in space? Screens, swing passes, etc.....if these big WRs can't catch, at least have them block.

I noticed that Lorenzo Carter didn't play much until the 4th Qtr. Is he injured, or was he being sent a message? I believe there has been an evaluation problem for awhile. Too many highly rated players just haven't panned out as anticipated. Hopefully, Kirby and his staff will be better than the previous regime.

I am so tired of under-achievement that I've almost become ambivalent to the whole season..... I'm to the point where the outcome of the Georgia football games is expected to be disappointing, so I watch just to measure the level digression. Sad, isn't it?

Orge... one thing I said about KS in another thread
was this:

KS is a defensive guy, and you know what?.. our D is not inept. They have issues with depth, experience, and just getting gassed because the O can do nothing. I've seen adjustments made and play improve over the course of the season. The alignments don't make me scratch my head either.
That side of the ball is Kirby's area of expertise.

Then on the O, we have complete ineptitude. Ineptitude in play calling and execution. We're not only making no progress.. we're going the wrong direction. We shake out head time and time again at play choice, and its not KS making those choices.

If KS can't coach and is completely lost, then I would expect it would be evident in every aspect of the game. Yet we don't.. Where we look clueless and completely incompetent is on one side of the ball and its not the side where KS specializes.

Even if we look at KS for the O... he's got a guy underneath him who was supposed to be a teacher with worlds of experience and we look worse almost every week. That guy is the one calling the plays that make us say "what the actual ****???!?".

So KS Is a defensive guy and in charge of everything, but where we are completely laughable is in one area; OFFENSE.. where we know KS depends on his OC most because its not his area of expertise.

So laying a huge chunk of blame at Chaneys feet is a defendable position.

God Bless and Go Dawgs

SBR1969. It always happens, wrong fan near you, Loud and obnoxious (drunk?)
It was a tough game to sit through.

I just checked in here. Lots of reading to catch up on. I plan on going back over it several times.

My take on things after skimming through the messages.

1. DawgDoc was right. We need to coach more to the talent we have in place. IMO that is the reason a couple of his coaches are getting a bad rep.

2. Kirby plays smash football and the team he has is not built for it. He is trying to push the players toward his style, maybe too much.

3. The lines, D and O seem to fall apart in many plays. That is causing a panic in the backfield on pressure to throw and Chubb not making it far past scrimmage line.

We at Dawgs.com have said it will take 24 months to for him to build his team. We have a fresh coach and fresh QB in play this year.

I am sticking with Kirby for the rest of the year. It is what it is.

For winning the Natty give every Dawg a bone AND prime rib steak.

Same here steve.

Wasn't surprised, shocked, or dismayed by the game. I knew they were going to shut the run game down and force Eason to pass the ball. And that's exactly what happened. Eason is showing improvement each game, but he's still showing that he's most definitely a freshman.

Just one more game closer to the offseason and we get reinforcements who can be built from the ground up.

And honestly, what else is Kirby going to say at this point other than we're going to get ready to play Kentucky? It's a bad season. This bad season started last season and has just matured into a serious mess.

Maybe I'm just not as passionate and knee-jerk as I used to be, but I'm not even thinking of calling for anyone's head yet. Some have said "the wheels have come off." Good. It's about time. Now lets drop the axles while we're in there and replace them with new ones.

I know others disagree and that's fine. But I'm not pushing any big red buttons. Not by a stretch.

I'm only pushing one red button.

The one that knows we can't block the pass rush and doesn't screen.

The one that runs the lightest guy in the team on 4th and 1.

The one that was laughing on the sideline about 4 minutes before the bell rung on the Vandy loss.

The one calling plays as if we had the Arkansas line from 2014.

God Bless and Go Dawgs
