Watching the G Day Game . . . . again this morning.

Personal conclusion, Jacob Eason has everything it takes to be the starting quarterback. Very impressive watching Jacob standing in the pocket and going through his reads.

Offensive line gives Eason a minimum of protection, Jacob will make a good decision with the football. Kirby allowing the linebackers and defensive backs to pass rush . . . . pass rushers are playing serious football trying to reach Jacob Eason. Makes a lot of sense to me for Jacob to see the "real thing" early on.

Believe we can finally say with some authority that we will be using our tight ends again. That had become a lost portion of the game that once upon a time was our bread and butter.

Have few doubts that our defense is going to be of SEC quality. Kirby and Company will demand that.

Just how good is Tennessee? Florida? I know this . . . . Georgia has according to the talking heads out recruited both East SEC teams over the past few seasons. That is according to which talking head we listen to. Know that Muschamp will have South Carolina playing a different brand of defense, that is a given.

Do not believe that Tennessee has a better or stronger roster than we do. Do like the fact that the game is between the Hedges this season. If Sanford Stadium held over 200K, would be a standing room only game.

Say this again . . . . I believe our offensive line will perform better in 2016 than we did in 2015. Sam Pittman knows how to get the best from his players. Another solid hire that I hope remains in Athens for a very long time. Some or . . . . One at the AJC is having great concerns with our offensive line. We will see.

Georgia is going to be a fun team to watch. We, you and I needed that.

Go Dawgs :)

Maybe it is just me . . . .

Seth Emerson has two running articles in the AJC today.

Struck me as strange that one article mentions running quarterbacks in the future, near future?

Next article has Francis Tarkenton (running quarterback) in the second article.

Closer we get to the completion of the IPF, the more Francis' name will appear in the AJC and the ABH.

Maybe I am wrong, will put this post in the vault and see how it plays after or soon after (or before) the completion of the IPF.

Still watching McGarity.

Allow me this . . . .

I don't have a problem with a running quarterback.

I have a problem with recruiting quarterbacks that are prepping for the NFL and not coming close to running the football.

Looking closely at the quarterbacks that have signed on with UGA, the quarterbacks that are being recruited by UGA, do not see a lot of spread qb's being offered.

So, why not cut through the BS. I said that.

Kirby Smart hired a offensive line coach that "understands" the need to protect the quarterback. Many on this board, Dawgs.com understand that an offensive line that has size and understanding on "how" to "attack" the defense is being accomplished as I post and some read.

Someone please tell me that "powerful" young men coached by Coach Sam Pittman cannot make it to the NFL or be successful in the SEC with his tutoring/coaching/relationships.

WTF, yes I said that . . . . "Finally" the light has gone on in Athens. Not the Mahogany Row BS, the "Bean Counters" have controlled for x number of years. Bean Counters are not responsible for 93K in Sanford Stadium. That "number" came from a "coaching change". A coaching change that almost ended up with Kirby Smart and Company in Columbia, South Carolina.

If . . . . "IF" Kirby Smart had become the head coach in Gamecock Country, everyone or "close" to everyone of the coaches that now reside in the Classic City would be wearing different colors. Don't buy that, speak up. Realize this board is a reading board, it is what it is.

This old fart is tired of the same old BS that has been a "huge part" of Mahogany Row for too many years.

Buc will win or go down with Smart and Company. Those that remain silent, you are you.

Go Dawgs, Go Smart and Company :)

Buc,

You have to play the hand you are dealt, and Kirby has been dealt a superior arm. Why Watson is NOT here is a painful topic already well covered here.

With our coaching emphasis on line play, I don't think you necessarily need a running QB as much as you need a QB with quick feet, a quick mind, and the ability to move with his protection scheme. Bottom line: the ball moves down field faster through the air than it does being carried. A defense that is stretched from sideline to sideline and has to worry about 15-30 yards vertically, if a defense that is vulnerable to a good offensive plan.

I think Eason will be fine, and will be even better when the new regime's line is recruited, coached up, and in place.

Eason showed an ability to slide in the pocket and dump the ball off as needed. Most importantly, he made good decisions. What goes on between his ears, and the speed at which it does, is one of the biggest factors in his future success.

Thanks for your continued observations. This is the site to keep up with the dawgs!

Good read Rockdawg.

Seems every question that arises concerning UGA Football is quickly answered by Smart and Company. They choose not to hide behind words.

Smart and Company will not be told how to run this team, that is not to say they will not listen, appears that to me when questions are asked, statements soon follow. That really bothered me with the last head coach and his way of smiling and telling us we would know when he was ready for us to know.

I also have high hopes that we don't allow Tracy Rocker to move on. Soon after he was hired, it was mentioned on Dawgs.com that we need to focus on keeping Tracy. From where I sit, want "stability" in our program. Rocker would be a great loss in my opinion. Reason I bring this up . . . . hear some continuing chatter about Tracy Rocker remaining in Athens, or . . . .

This man is and will continue to be a "force" recruiting not only the State of Georgia, which is critical, he will travel and work hard for the good guys in Athens and the fans that know and appreciate his "value" as an individual.

Again, good read Rockdawg. :)
