These coaches are putting on quite a show. Shows that results are gained with hard work. Worked for me over the years.

Folks, have to do this. Mention sometimes that I know other sites check us out on a regular basis. Below is a line that "we" developed, seems to have caught on. We refer to Coach Smart and Company, using a capital "C".

Maybe should not say this but . . . .

I believe that some folks in high positions, whether the sports world or business on the street, human nature to protect ones self often becomes the playbook.

From where I sit, saw a lot of that over many years in Athens.

Coach Smart went out and found coaches that are first off, experienced. Proven on the field and off. That process alone will produce a solid following, both from coaches and players.

Previous head coach in my opinion had a shotgun approach. Either he did not understand "how" or he chose to hire those that would "follow" and be grateful for being hired.

Mentioned a short time back that Jon Richt is now the quarterback coach for the "U". The same Jon Richt was brought on campus by his Dad in Athens. That was discussed on this board. That was the Bobby Bowden way at FSU. Basically, the family hires were the final nail in the coffin. Family means not only the blood, others that were very close but there were better choices to be made.

Nine years under Nick Saban will not and did not take Kirby Smart down that road. That is a serious plus for football improvement in the Classic City.
