Jerry Richardson made a vow to win a Super bowl in ten years when he got the Panther franchise in the early 90s. Nothing wrong with being optimistic. You can do everything right and it still doesn't work out. There are 15-20 other programs that want to win it just as much.
Scooby, agree that there are many that want to win.
Kirby Smart will be our best chance at this point to move forward.
Seems to me that we (UGA) had slipped a bit. Slipped from expectations.
Comes a time when the same talk over and over at the beginning of each season somehow gets old. I know a little bit about "old".
Clean slate, will see if those that have wanted "change" meet expectations.
Kirby Smart is not bringing a "hustle" to Athens. He wants and believes this is his calling . . . . otherwise in my way of thinking, he would have taken one of the many offers he has had in the past. Came close to taking the Gamecocks, but those in Athens had to step up. Sometimes it comes down to "wants and needs".
Those that understand UGA football history, really understand, now have our "wants". "Needs" . . . . those of us that got our "wants" will now see if we get our "needs".
Anyone that thinks or "truly believes" that our program being run by Kirby Smart will decline . . . . time to put the "moola" on the table.
Something that has not been said on this board or any board I have read, or any media "stuff" presented thus far . . . . the paragraph below concerning Tracy Rocker, not what I have been privy to, goes like this, I don't sit in the Butts-Mehre.
Tracy Rocker had multiple offers. Said to me by someone I have great respect for . . . . Tracy Rocker loves the Red and Black. I buy that and am a happy camper wearing the Red and Black every football weekend knowing that Kirby Smart had the good sense to retain Tracy Rocker. Huge in my world.
Go Dawgs, change is upon us.
