That's what is great about getting Kirby after 11 total years with Saban......he will get the 5 star players that play with heart.

.......and a lot of them..... ;)

KS opened my "blind fan eyes" with that statement. For too long I assumed because we grabbed 2x4 star and 2x3 star DLmen, we were talented. But after hearing his words I realized we are not. For those 4 recruits, 1 will be a bust and after one gets injured, we too often ended wup with a class of 1 x 4 star and 1 x 3 star DL/OLmen...

For comparison, Bama's 9 deep on the DL include the following:

4 x 5 star
4 x 4 star
1 x 3 star

Thus, a 38-10 butt whipping of UGA.

We will be 8-4/9-3 next year. It will take 2-3 years to get the talent in here

Music to my ears also BulldogShannon.

A head coach that "understands" what the two fronts mean.

yankeedawg1 has had his say about the two fronts for quite a while.

Yankeedawg,

You may have a team now and again that is a one-year wonder and pops up that wins a natty with an Oregon-style offense that is just so ridiculously talented that it was theirs to lose. But on the whole, if you look at the numbers and what history says, it is clear that the trenches (specifically defensive trenches) are where successful programs are built. Certainly in the SEC, that's how business is run.

I'm not ready to put a win/loss estimate on us yet because I want to see how quickly these players buy into and understand CKS's program. I can assure you that there's gonna be a lot of players come spring practice and at camp that have never been expected to perform at the level CKS will demand. And that will separate the winners from the losers, but it will also determine how successful year 1 is going to be.

Sincerely believe the difference in Kirby Smart coming in as Head Coach from Alabama is totally different than Mark Richt coming in as Head Coach from FSU.

Bobby Bowden was and is also a good man.

Nick Saban is a better man than some know. His business is his business.

Alabama and its group of coaches are successful for a reason . . . . they have "leadership" and the game that they play has been around for ages . . . . Follow the Leader. ;)

Reading a lot of material, came down to the above in my mind.

Noticing that the AJC is already playing the word game or trying to set the pace for Kirby Smart. What those wet behind their ears need to do is understand that many understand they are putting copy out to save their place.

Bet this. Kirby Smart will be respectful, he also spent time, much time as wlayton said above under Nick Saban. Those now sitting in the Butts-Mehre seats are in for a surprise when they toss their "stoopid stuff" out in press conferences.

Kirby Smart loves football. He also will be the "Director of Operations" or "OOD", eh Chief Growl . . . .

averagedawg said it well, as usual . . . . One can see what Alabama did with Coker.

Enough said.

One last comment for now . . . .

Francis Tarkenton, you are really silent. Scolded all of us on Mark Richt leaving. Don't worry, Greg McGarity and Mahogany Row like money. Your $200,000 or so will be displayed with your photo somewhere in the $30,000,000 Indoor Practice Facility.

Hines Ward is excited about Kirby Smart taking over. Hines knows that Kirby is the right choice.
