Shannon, just trying to say how important getting the best players is if you want to compete for championships. When Steve Spurrier resigned I think he talked about how important recruiting is, and that was part of the reason they had fallen off. I didn't go back and make sure he said that, but it was along those lines.

To reinforce this point I mentioned the great NS had a so so record at Mich State. He also went 5-3 in conference play his first three years at lsu. So so in the nfl. Got it going in bama and I don't deny he is the best college coach. The biggest reason for his success is getting the best players, imho...

I think what he may be saying is that it's not Mark Richt's fault that Alabama crushed us, because Alabama had better players....

That doesn't really explain the Tennessee and Florida losses, and the inability in the past several years to beat anyone who ended up in the top 20, but I digress....
