Do believe we are about to see great things happen. Might just be coach speak but it's dang good and needed for awhile. Would love to have any recruit that wants to saddle up and work hard. But if we don't get them they are plenty more out there much rather have a three star that plays with his heart than a five star that thinks the world owes him something.

DAWGtm, meant to mention your name when I posted "hand in the dirt". You have been as vocal as anyone here about offensive and defensive lines. My bad, good on you Sir. :)

Looked through all of the threads about Kirby Smart and did not see the video below listed in any of the posts. Trying not to duplicate, but there has been a lot of traffic, so if you have seen this either on Dawgs.com or from elsewhere, maybe some have not.

Never hurts to watch what folks have to say, sometimes can get insight into what they want to accomplish.

This thread is a good place to place the video.

EDIT: Allow me this if you will. As we get longer in the tooth, many of us realize that we cannot go through some of the things we did when younger. Time means a lot.

If Kirby Smart works out to be "THE HEAD COACH" that has a true grip on how his program will be ran for "us", not much more can be asked. Somehow I have known for a long time that "things" were not what they should be in Athens. Still believe that there are problems that those of us on the "outside" will not hear about.

Putting all of my "faith" in Kirby Smart and those that he wants on his staff. There are those in Athens now that I am more than satisfied with, but Kirby Smart has to be the person that is comfortable in his own shoes. He will choose and I will watch and believe he has been the missing piece that has been needed for many years.

Go Dawgs :)

Thank's Buc
I haven't seen that interview. I like how he stated that you are always trying to improve and it's a continual process. Don't think the previous regime grasped that concept. Do believe they rested and got comfortable.

DAWGtm, yes they did (get comfortable) for too many years.

Going to be a little ugly, but it is the way I feel. Been around the game for a while.

The "Carney" is gone. Anyone that wants to start a "good man thread or post" . . . . don't do that here, PLEASE. I don't control that, but bet your butt I will speak to your lack of "football intelligence" in a respectful way.

Francis Tarkenton, again I ask . . . . Still on the "Good Man Bandwagon"?

There are many men that wore the Red and Black and also moved on to the NFL and made names for themselves and still show respect to Georgia Football in the Classic City.

Take your BS and move on Francis . . . . It was time for a "serious" change in Athens, not sure I have seen one in the past 15 years. Can go further back.

Finally Georgia Football grew a "pair". Kirby Smart has a "pair".

Hope this does not pp too many folks off.

Believe it or not I appreciate Theus being our left/right tackle for his time in Athens.

Coming out of high school he was rated as the 3rd best offensive lineman in the country.

Could it possibly be that UGA/MR have played the game of "numbers"? I think so.

Rob Sale moved #77 a guard to left tackle. How did that work out? Check the videos, easy to see that Isaiah Wynn was head and shoulders better than Theus. Rob Sale saw that right away. Did not worry about those above him. Rob Sale was doing his job.

That is what I hope to see change in Athens. Someone with the knowledge that "will" make the changes necessary for the entire team to move forward.

Whether we as fans and supporters accept it or not, it was time for a change at the TOP. Allow me this, the TOP has not been reached. MR is in Miami, but there is still some "stuff" in Athens, that was far above MR's head.

One question if you don't agree with the above.

Who would have bet the farm on Mark Richt being released in 2015? Released with his usual 9/10 wins every year. For the bleeding hearts . . . . Mark Richt is the head coach in Miami, the "U". Get your collective heads out of your behinds, this was a needed change . . . . for the past x amount of years.
