Buc,
I really appreciate the kind words. I read and have read dawgs.com for years, but I just have been so burned out by the state of our program that any commentary on the status quo was turning into Groundhog Day. Same stuff, different season. Everything was already said and I have been totally uninspired to repeat the same stuff all the time, every season. Making good on my promise not to talk about CMR any further, I'll just say that I've felt the whole program has reminded me of that old movie Weekend at Bernie's. Just a propped up corpse. Sounds harsh, I know. It has broken my heart to see the unbelievable talent we've had and us not even be in a conversation for the national championship. So I suppose that's why I've refrained from posting for so long.
I am thankful for the warm welcome I have received and I really am happy and honored to be here among the fine folks on this board as a guest. I appreciate that people here can express themselves here without descending into profane tirades and have civilized and intellectual conversations on this program. I'm here to stay though, as long as ya'll will have me.
Now, to Muschamp.
I trust you have some insight I don't on this matter, so I repeat what I said earlier. You may very well be right on this hire. I just find it strange that SC is delaying this long when they need to be recruiting hard and heavy right now. They're in the same boat UGA is in - the longer they postpone this hire, the more ground they lose. If they are going to hire Muschamp, why wait? Get him in there now. Muschamp could care less about waiting around to see if Auburn is bowl eligible. From the outside looking in, it just appears that there's pretty heavy deliberation going on in Columbia on who to hire.
I just hope it is Muschamp. Boy do I hope it is.

I think there is some real legitimacy to this thought of yours. It was reported earlier this week that Pruitt was interested in the Michigan DC job. Now his name is off the radar, and names like Scott Shafer (who was with Harbaugh at Stanford), Jim Leavitt (former USF coach who got railroaded when I was there, and was with Harbaugh at San Fran), and other current staff are on the chalkboard. Pruitt's name is sort of disappearing, which is insane because he is without a doubt
the best DC on the open market. Now that could mean one of two things:
(a) He's waiting for Kirby to get to UGA and have the serious conversation with him to determine his future (possible, I give it 45%)
(b) He's waiting for Kirby to get to UGA and have the serious conversation with Saban about returning to Alabama as DC (more likely, I give it 55%)
I will tell you though Buc, if Pruitt is retained at UGA, you may be able to hear me screaming with excitement from where you sit. The day I heard Pruitt was coming to UGA and Grantham was sent packing, I jumped up pumping my fist at the office like I was in the stadium. It tears me apart to see Pruitt leave. I think every UGA fan that was on life support with CMR owes Pruitt a debt of gratitude for helping wake up the powers that be that this program was on a bridge to nowhere under his coaching leadership. For that, Pruitt will always have my support, no matter where he lands.

Yes, yes, and more yes! I agree with this 1000%. I think all Eason is waiting for is this announcement, either public or private, to end all this drama we're seeing play out. I don't buy any of this nonsense of him going to FL. And yeah, I agree that there's going to be (or more likely is) a solid crop of OC's panting to join this dawg fight in Athens under Smart. I'm anxiously awaiting to see who it's going to be.

I have been thinking that too. Richt is going to poach at least a couple of his staff from UGA.
Question for you: have you heard anything recent about Scott Cochran coming over with CKS? I know I read an article that Saban is trying his best to keep him (which means more $$ of course). Have you heard any "whispers" in that area?
Cheers
EDIT: Shortly after I posted this, I saw TBO.com was reporting that SC interviewed USF head coach Willie Taggart.
