Has not been a secret that are some on this board that believe to play and be successful in the SEC requires one thing for sure . . . . Defense.
There is a lot of talk about Alabama's defense, deservedly so.
The gators reached the SECCG by winning the East of course. How did they accomplish that? Defense.
Now South Carolina has chosen Will Muschamp as their leader. Muschamp for sure is not a offensive minded person, meaning his bread is buttered by having a stout defense.
The time I have spent around SEC football, several years, seldom does a team wear championship rings if they do not have a stout defense.
If UGA had the needed guidance over the last several years concerning the defense, who knows . . . .
Many UGA fans got excited after they saw what Pruitt/Rocker and Company accomplished in two years. During that period, UGA's offense continued to rely on running backs. Would not be surprised to see Lambert wearing the head phones in 2016. Also would not be surprised to see Ramsey to take over and UGA run more of a spread offense than they do now.
This offseason will be exciting because of the coaching change(s). Much will be expected. At least half of the folks that call themselves UGA fans have heard a lot of "noise" in the past.

So when he fielded one from a Gamecocks reporter during Monday’s introductory press conference, he used it as an opportunity to take a shot at SEC East rival UGA, which also happens to be his alma mater.
“Did you see where I got my undergraduate degree? I don’t think I understand the question,” Muschamp said.
