wlayton, this is one of my fears. There is a player in South Florida, American Heritage that might be the best linebacker I have seen in . . . .?

If we do not win against Missouri, between the Hedges, I believe that the odds of getting this player go down, way down.

Three losses in the East Side of the SEC casts a huge shadow on exactly what is going on in the Classic City. I say that, many understand that.

There is no doubt that many players go on to the NFL and have "great careers", having played for Georgia and wore the Red and Black.

Some have posted here and other sites that we prepare these young men for the future. You know exactly where that leaves folks like you and I when these young pups do wear the Red and Black and go on to wear NFL colors.

Simple question from where I sit . . . .

What about us? I have an answer for that question, hoping members will add something to the question.

Well Buc,

Despite the fact that we recruit top 10 classes every year, easily rank in the top 5 in terms of money behind our program and players put into the NFL, and have seen all of our contemporaries win SEC and National Championships, you obviously have your expectations set way to high if you think we should finish in the top 10.

Here's what's really tough for all of us. We all want UGA to win, but if Richt ever wins the SEC title again it will buy him another decade.

His supporters will scream that it proves we were right to stick with him, but you all know the very next year we would be right back to the same old-same old again for the duration of the next 10 years.

I'll absolutely guarantee to you that even if Richt stumbled into a title of some sort in the next few years, it will NOT be the beginning of any period of consistency commensurate with our talent; it will be an aberration.

The pathetic loser isn't going to win an SEC title. The bad news is that if he chooses to, we're stuck with him for that decade regardless.
