Have to say this . . . .
During my days in Boot Camp, going to the mess hall and watching "them" put grits in a bowl, then add sugar, milk and stir. Disgraceful.
GRITS are SACRED.
Top this off with biscuits, hand made, bacon or sausage, some add sausage gravy to the grits, couple of eggs cooked to request.
Just having some fun yd1.

My Grannie was a Quaker Oatmeal lady. Bowl of oatmeal with sliced banana and cream
Love my grits best are coarse ground speckled grits (black pepper) Pine MT LODGE
They did sell them at the ATL airport always grabbed a bag when traveling thru
Grits and shrimp over on the Carolina coast good stuff
38 years later. All good poking fun , don't talk as funny as I once did
True that Buc. Grits are sacred. I have 3 grits trees in my backyard that I planted in 03
I bought them from a man while in stopping for lunch in Flat Rock,AL. Hwy 72 between
Chattanooga and Huntsville He said the had To be in the ground for 15 years before they
would produce a harvest of grits just 4 years more and I won't need to buy them anymore
Can't wait. Go Dawgs

Remember than game clearly Buc when I was a young boy....Ronnie Jenkins scoring off guard from 3 yards out. He was a beast and the Dawgs put a good 'ol southern wuppin on those northern boys.

Good gravy... I'm old school. Hang around me long and you'll here that, and "Jiminy Crickets!" quite a bit.
You'll also hear this one you may or may not remember....
"We've got more RB's... than Carter has little pills"
Remember that well. Believe we phrased the term "Carter has liver pills". We have to realize that those of the old South amused many North of the Mason/Dixon Line.
Took a while, but when the Georgia Football Team made its way to play Michigan back in the day, were mocked pre-game, some of the names called our young men, Blackeyed Pea Boys and more.
The North's first lesson learned about Southern Football. Might be that some of the training tables up that way should condsider Blackeye Peas. Check out the SEC and Southern Football now. Old wounds hard to heal.

Don,t feel bad YD1, in 1950 as a freshmen at UGA this Conn. yankee put milk & sugar on my bowl of grits. Have since learned to enjoy "Georgia Ice Cream" with my eggs a" shermanized" bacon for breakfast each morning. And now since I'm a big boy now sometimes a bloody mary goes along as a treat. I also miss good Italian food in the south, but I still make my own red sauce as a good "Gomboo" friend taught me many moons ago. Two things I miss about Athens is the Varsity & Harry,s Drive Inn at Five Points, now a boose store. Worked the counter at Harry,s for 6yrs & I miss Harry Stephens a great deal, a very nice gentleman.
