Sports fans are drawn to support winners

As wlayton pointed out that’s why we keep score

Easy to remember who won

We know that California Chrome did not win the Triple Crown but
Who won the Belmont Stakes to prevent that happening? Slightly more difficult to answer

In college basketball who wins the NCCA Championship is
Easier than which teams were in the Elite Eight

There has been historic losses that we call recall

But not as many as Winners we enjoy recalling

Just win Baby

Winning is the only thing

My all time favorite – “If you are not first-than your last” -Ricky Bobby

What Ricky is saying if you are not the winner then your last

No second place or third place only last-all that counts is winning

What is the old saying almost is only for horseshoes and hand grenades

Is it good enough to just play in the championship game? Without
Winning? Jim Kelly and the Bills and how many Super Bowl almost?

This means in college football there just one winner and the field.

Yes bigger bowl games and bigger payoff but you are still not the National Championship Team

It is all for show as only there is only one Crystal Ball.

Remember it's not if you win or loose it's how you play the game really.

Yankeedawg IMO it's all about the money.

I would like to know what CBS paid the NFL channel for Thursday night football.

How Bout them Dawgs!!!!!!!

Dws. Give yourself an. "A" Then it is the competition we seek or to have a competitive

Team? It surely increases our odds to win. CBS paid many zeroes and commas plus a large

Whole number to get the NFL Thursday night game

By now guess most know that Georgia and Notre Dame will face off in 2017 and 2019.

Reading various articles about the coming games, one thing in one particlar article caught my attention. Might not amount to a hill of beans, but I do follow copy closely. Bold paragraph along with some of the other released parts seem to point in a certain direction.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
ATHENS -- Georgia and Notre Dame, two of the college football programs richest in history and tradition, have agreed to a two-game series according to an announcement Wednesday by UGA J. Reid Parker Director of Athletics Greg McGarity.
The Bulldogs and Fighting Irish will play in South Bend on September 9, 2017, and in Athens on September 21, 2019.
"This series will generate an overwhelming level of excitement for our student-athletes and supporters," said McGarity. "We have a tremendous amount of respect for Notre Dame and look forward to the start of this memorable experience."
The two teams have met only once before -- in the 1981 Sugar Bowl--a 17-10 Georgia victory that capped an undefeated, untied season and secured a consensus national championship. Vince Dooley coached the Bulldogs while Dan Devine was head coach of the Fighting Irish.
"Playing Notre Dame will be an honor and a great challenge for us," said UGA head coach Mark Richt. "I have a lot of respect for the job Coach Kelly is doing there and I'm sure college football fans across the country will enjoy watching our two teams compete."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Appears that the Mark Richt tenure will last another five (5) years instead of three as has been discussed before. If my addition is right 2014-2019 amounts to five years. If that is the case, think that Jeremy Pruitt and Company will only be here for three years at the most. Pruitt is not going to spend five years under Richt, especially if he is doing well coaching UGA's Defense along with his previous stops being successful. Just does not work like that. Just my opinion.

CMR could play ND in 2017 and then leave. McGarity mentioned the series but CMR didn't say anything about playing BOTH games. Still could leave after 2017 season. :ohmy:

Guess I was thinking along the lines of Richt saying "I'm sure college football fans across the country will enjoy watching our two teams compete."

Understand that Mark Richt has said he wants Georgia to be the only college he ever represents as a head coach. Over many years of watching and writing about college football, there have always been certain "indicators" about intentions.

Not too far back, Mark Richt brought up the subject of Bobby Bowden and his age while still coaching at FSU and alluded to that as a possibility for himself.

Do know this . . . . the "Group" in Athens will continue along the same path whether or not Pruitt or any other name comes up as a replacement for Richt.
