Below are the records for all 14 SEC teams over the past three seasons against teams that finished the season nationally ranked in one of the final polls. In parentheses are the records against top-10 foes.

1. South Carolina: 12-3, .800 (5-2)
2. Alabama: 8-4, .667 (4-4)
3. LSU: 9-5, .643 (6-5)
4. Texas A&M: 5-10, .333 (1-6)
5. Georgia: 5-11, .312 (2-9)
6. Florida: 5-12, .294 (3-7)
7. Auburn: 4-13, .235 (3-8)
8. Missouri: 3-12, .200 (0-8)
9. Arkansas: 2-11, .154 (1-8)
10. Ole Miss: 2-15, .118 (0-9)
10. Tennessee: 2-15, .118 (1-12)
12. Vanderbilt: 0-12, .000 (0-8)
13. Kentucky: 0-13, .000 (0-8)
14. Mississippi State: 0-15, .000 (0-9)

A little misleading stat though.....

only 2 of the 14 SEC teams even had a winning record against top 10 teams, USC (5-2) and LSU ( only 6-5).....and Bama was .500 (4-4).....BAMA!!!

With Bama at 4-4 the last 3 years against top 10 teams tells me that stat is a little misleading.

wellllll Bama has beaten TWICE as many top 10 teams as us.....LSwho FOUR times as many as us and the old ball sack THREE times as many.....how is that misleading.....look at the top 25 stat is that misleading also?

5-11 and 2-9 is not "growing" it is shrinking......over THREE years.......not a very good stat when 2 of the top 5 teams have THREE NC's and the Coaches of the top 3 teams have 6 combined NC's to our ZERO NC's

As for Bama being 4-4 I will take 4-4 and 2 NC's any day of the week.....

Just don't see how TWO and NINE is a misleading stat..........or FIVE and ELEVEN for that matter.....thought you took off those rose colored glasses......

AM is gone and Bobo ain't that good of an OC

Bobo has gotten MUCH better as an OC no doubt & he does not get nearly enough credit for his value as a recruiter IMO. Still, I sure hope he has not reached his ceiling yet...1 of my 2 biggest areas of concern with Bobo are very similar to what DAWGtm & WartDawg posted:

1) He still gets too conservative/predictable at times
2) He is too pass happy sometimes (UGA ranked 79th out of 125 D-I teams in lowest % of rushing plays at 50.95%)

Buc, the biggest takeaway I got from reviewing the link to the SEC stats you posted was this, we should be renamed FGU as in, Field Goal University-doh! We made more FGs than any other SEC team even attempted. Got to get better play-calling & execution in the Red zone I'd say.

Lastly, I don't at all like the looks of our lowly stats against ranked teams & top 10 teams over the last 3 seasons but this is a TEAM statistic & not simply an indication of Bobo's inability to beat the cream of the crop. I'd definitely argue til I'm red the face with any Dawg fan who thinks that the OFFENSE has been a bigger problem than the DEFENSE (or lack thereof) the past 3 years at UGA.

Don't get me wrong, BOTH sides & obviously our terrible Special Teams have plenty of room for improvement but I've seen our offense score more than enough points to win big ball games & more often than not, the D let us down...can't honestly recall a single game where our D held a quality opponent to under 24 points & the offense couldn't muster enough scores to seal the victory.

I refuse to lay ALL the blame at the feet of the D. Don't forget that Carolina has beaten us 3 of the last 4 years and do not forget the 35-7 debacle 2 years ago in Columbia when we could not even move the ball. This is an over all stat for 3 years. Sure we scored a lot of points last year but what did we do prior to last year........our only high light for the last 3 years was we were 5 yards from an NC and that was just to coddle the masses. Tired of the if's with this team and coaches. We made 1 change and that is supposed to change the over all outlook of this staff. I don't think so. 2 more changes need to be made and they were not.

The HC/OC cost us more games by playing not to lose and they are one in the same. People actually think that the OC or HC will change because we have a new DC. Did they change when Grantham came on board. uh doh....I don't think so.

Bobo such a great recruiter then how come the best players are going out of state and we cannot recruit a top Offensive lineman or line like the schools to our west? The problem runs deeper than the Defense my friends.....much deeper.....

If our offense scored enough points how come we were 8-5. we obviously did not score enough points to WIN. A famous coach once said "Winning is not everything, it is the ONLY thing"

We will see the same as over the years, we are up by 21 points and REFUSE to step on the gas and go up by 41 and end up losing by 3 or 6 points. Going to happen wait and see.

The last word on this from me is VANDERBILT

Went to bed thinking about many of the comments. One that stuck with me is the one below.

GooseDawg78 said . . . .

Anyone that cannot wrap their arms around the above, really not much more needs to be said. Think that all of us or most of us think we "know more" about coaching football than those that do. That statement is not saying that I agree with Mark Richt as a head coach. Say again, Mark Richt is a "front man" that the "Group" in Athens accept and will keep.

We have been a disaster the last 3 years as mentioned by ogredawg, but I can't agree with the totality of the statement. Our supposed defense has let us down time and again under the last group that "called the defensive plays/schemes". grantham liked to say his defense was good in the "Red Zone". Just how many points did our "Red Zone" defensive coordinator give up to the very good SEC football teams and the not so good SEC football teams?

Will UGA miss AM? Would Denver Broncos miss Manning? Would the Patriots miss Tom Brady? Same rule applies to all of the mentioned quarterbacks and their respective teams. Does not take a lot of thought on that question.

If I read some of the posts right, would answer with this . . . . Mike Bobo is not taking us down, that in my opinion falls on the head coach. Mike Bobo's offense is cranking out points. Also I would add, with a mediocre offensive line. Could that be Mike's fault, he is the offensive coordinator. Personally feel that area should fall on the shoulders of the offensive line coach. Offensive line coach played with his hand in the dirt, Bobo did not, nor did Richt. That has been a problem with me for a very long time.

We enter into 2014 Season and still are not sure who our starting offensive line is. That to me is a problem. Mike Bobo's play calling and the end result is putting points on the board does not rest squarely on Bobo's shoulders.

Had to bring in a new group of coaches that immediately addressed the Special Teams issue. That is not Mike Bobo's failure. Matter of fact, Special Teams have caused Mike Bobo problems on occasions . . . . check the return yardage on punt and kickoff returns. Any coach worth his salt will tell you and I this . . . . hard to move an offensive team 80 or more yards. Especially when it happens over and over. Most SEC defenses don't allow a lot of 80 yard touchdowns. Some, not many.

Much can be said, I sure as hell am willing.

Edit: In the article below, feel this is something that Bobo has wanted to say since grantham left. While he did not call names, reading between the lines, feel he got a couple of things off of his shoulders. grantham did nothing for the University of Georgia. Had zero loyalty to the university or its coaches. Fooled some of us out here in the blogosphere, same as he did with UGA.

Interesting point on the number of defensive players that left prior to Pruitt taking over the defense for FSU. Says something to me.

Have said and will say again, it makes for a better work environment when folks see eye to eye. There is always room for disagreement, but the same can be said for agreement.

Edit #2: Have visited the video of the game in Atlanta against Alabama more than once.

Anyone that looks at that video will see our defense getting its ass handed to them. Might be that we came up 5 yards short, but after I look closely, that was a hell of a drive to get that close. There was confusion coming from AM and the sideline. Fact is this . . . . what is the reason that we (UGA) had to have a drive of that length? I would say it was because the defense was winded and much of that came from the defensive coaches. Like many players this Spring in Athens have said, ain't no sitting on our ass under Jeremy Pruitt and Tracy Rocker and other coaches.

Another point about our offense. Anyone that believes AM did not have the "authority" to change plays at the line of scrimmage, you just ain't getting it. He was allowed to change the play because of Mike Bobo. Part of the system. AM had nothing but praise for Mike Bobo, call it what we want, those words came from AM's mouth, several times. Is AM a liar or just an appeaser?

Remember well and have it in the vault from statements on this board about AM needed to be replaced. Anyone remember that?

Reading article like the one below. No one is happier than me that Nick Chubb is going to play football in Athens, not Tuscaloosa or Auburn. Seems some of our offensive coaches got it right.

Another thought on the article. Writer is missing the fact that Sony Michel is heading to Athens also. Back in the day I read comparisons concerning AM and Mettenberger. How AM should not be counted on, Mettenberger was more talented. I have watched Sony Michel with the football in his hands, anyone that does not take this talent seriously, guess you are in the right job, writing not analyzing the "total" amount of talent that our offensive coaches are bringing in. Sony Michel will play, and draw a lot of standing cheers in Sanford Stadium.

Buc you have put it all together with your last post. Well said

As I have posted before would not exchange our problems for any other teams

Starting this year with the new playoff system lets see if Bama returns to the NC

Much traffic here about changes. The Dawgs are not the only ones facing changes

CMB. Is the least of our problems

Go Dawgs

Go Dawgs!
