yankeedawg1, you said it . . . . Money says there is more money to be made following a change in the direction CJP wants to go

Than standing still. Junkyard Dawgs return to Sanford and the seats will fill up
. . . . I believe it.

This can be taken any way that is comfortable or not with folks. Some in the "loop" don't need to meddle with those that have committed their lives to the project . . . . FOOTBALL. "Some" coaches are there for one reason, win football games. There is a way to do that . . . . Check Saban and his hardline in Tuscaloosa.

Personally, don't need to hear a lot of the same "stuff" coming out of Athens by our head coach and others. 99% of these young men come to Georgia and other SEC Schools wanting a chance to play in the NFL. Many really don't want to hear some professor lecturing when in truth their mind is on football. Truth.

Did not say the above was the right way, I believe in education. I just think that when the truth is met with honesty from the otherside, the above is true. Self gratification by some coaches just don't meet the test of time. Good examples . . . . check the latest four out. Another example . . . . LeMay's Father is a pastor. Before Christian Lemay the brother that is now elsewhere ever put on a UGA uniform, he had serious problems his Senior Year in high school. Cam's Father, a pastor, tried to negotiate his sons talents to a couple of universities, Auburn came away the winner. If these young men don't have it right before they leave home, Mark Richt can come off of his self gratifying way. They play and get an education and a chance at the NFL. They make serious mistakes, they need to get the hell out of Athens. We need to be real with ourselves, sugar coating anything sooner or later melts. Proof just showed its face again. 70 dollars or whatever the sum, reflects where these young men are in life. Beat the damn system. Lots of folks on the corners today because they turned down a good opportunity at life.

Really get pissed sometimes when I see ignorance.

Coach'em up, they can take care of the rest themselves, start to grow as men, get rid of the pants below their ass. Don't need a pastor on the field in Athens. FSU had that, see what happened there. Preacher gone, team returned to prominence. Don't think that Jeremy Pruitt is a "Pastor" type, he is a FOOTBALL COACH that believes in fair play through his coaching methods. Others could and should learn. I said that.

Bet here is that the first thing our defensive players are going to face is the wrath of Pruitt when pads and live action starts. Learning how to tackle. You guys know, like 100 years ago, the first real lesson was learning how to tackle. That has become a lost art both in college and the NFL. Still see some pretty good tackling technique in high school.

Players think that Pruitt has been tough in the first couple of get togethers, they ain't seen nothing yet. This is where he separates the winners from the guys that prefer to dance around. Pruitt comes from the old school, regardless of the fact being he is still just a puppy. Want to play on Saturdays, the real test comes with the pads on.

Really don't want to hear the same "stuff" that came out of Spring practice last season. All the raves were about Tray Matthews. As it turns out though, maybe he was the only one that was bringing the wood. Watching the tackling or lack of from our secondary players, guess when Tray went down, so did the tackling. Georgia defensive backs were awful and did not improve any from week to week. Pruitt will introduce them to something other than "Shoulder bumps" in what I like to think of as "March Madness in Football" in Athens.

More and more it looks as if football "might" be returning to Athens. Just need for some to stay out of the way. Said that again.

yankeedawg1, if I could draw a comparison between two players.

One is a 4 or 5 star (media does that, sells clicks). The other is a 2 or 3 star player or a walk on.

Many times the lower rated player ends up being the better "team player". All we need to do is look at the stars beside the players names that are disrupting the team. Don't have to name them, all of us are aware of the knuckle heads, especially when it comes to having guns in the car without serial numbers, and stealing from the Athletic Department and fans who provide the dollars for the Athletic Department.

Check the training table out. Check the lodging. Guarantee most of these young players have never been exposed to this type of top grade eating and lodging.

This is where the lack of parental control or just giving a damn comes into play. Tired of hearing 18 year olds cannot be held responsible.

Sometimes I look at the 5 star player and the 2 star and understand fully that some rating these young players have never been on the field for one play. How is it that they become "qualified" to pin star ratings on these kids in high school. The real answer . . . . it is called "hustling legally". I said that.

Look around, see how many of the 5 stars make our team better than the 2 or 3 stars on the field at the same time. Gets interesting . . . . eh?

Went back and read this post again yd1.

Word up best pay attention and do your best or he will try and teach the Player standing next to you.

Under grantham we heard something like this . . . . "Next man up".

grantham failed to deliver as I look back. grantham much like Garner played the favorites game on the defensive side of the ball.

That is something that Pruitt quickly pointed out without saying it in a certain way.

Pruitt said there would be battles for positions. Also read where he said that would be ongoing, not just the opening game against Clemson. Pruitt is about "hustle" and it was proven during his short stay in Tallahassee. It was easily recognizable to Jeremy Pruitt that grantham and several others had been playing the "favorites game" a long time. Both offensively and defensively. Think about that.

This also points to the fact that Richt was not leading. Richt not leading might be a blessing in disguise for Jeremy Pruitt and the Alabama way of doing things, topped off by an incredible defense led by him at FSU. Some lead, others need to learn how to "follow".

Looking around, could not pass this article up. Couple of backhanded slaps (again) by grantham at last years UGA defensive team. Had to be the troops, not grantham, right . . . .

Said soon after grantham left that I would try and keep my eyes on him and his doings at Louisville. Interesting read, still does not mention anyone except Jarvis Jones.
