I was hoping someone on this board would bring up the Jeff Bowden issue that actually ended up having Bobby Bowden lose his high status with the FSU faithful. FACT.
richt got out of town, Tallahassee, just before the joint started to fall apart.
Whether son is paid or not, still in my mind has tones that I don't care for. Many fine young men have passed through Athens, played the game, graduated and the list is loaded with young men that would have jumped at the chance to sit where Jon sits.
richt has become too comfortable in the Classic City. Now he is trying to do some of the same things that the Dooley family did. What did that get them other than a "statue". Remember Barbara barking about the Volunteers, after saying some choice things about UGA. Some situations are not best served with "family".
As ogredawg mentions, think I might see it another way. Jon coming in to prepare to take over the quarterbacking slot. Might be an indication that richt knows that Mike Bobo is a short timer. Preparing as Bobby Bowden did by bringing his son in.
Who knows, maybe Kirby Smart has whispered in Nick Saban's ear that Mike Bobo could be the next quarterback coach for Alabama, or maybe more. We were asking Kirby to come our way, might be that it will work in reverse. That would make the best recruiting college even better with Bobo. Just saying.
Hard for me to say this, but maybe grantham saw some things that are covered up by those that run UGA football, from the top. Might be that grantham saw just how poor richt's leadership qualities are. Could very well be.
So now the press is wrapping its arms around this richt move. Next press release should be a story on Bryan McClendon. The machine at work.
