Buc, you and I are "old school". While those high scoring shootouts can certainly be entertaining, they can also be pretty flat and boring, even if it is back and forth. I think that's because it's like a basketball game at that point - lots of scoring, but no real strategy. Truthfully, a low scoring game that is poorly played is probably even worse - like that Auburn/Mississippi State game that ended 3-2 - nobody enjoys that.
But all things considered, give me Ga/Fla, circa 1975 any day. Gene Washington to Richard Appleby, 10-7. The girders are bending!
Those were the days.
Wow, I'm getting old!
Edit - I know, I know. It was Richard Appleby to Gene Washington. Appelby might not have been QUITE as fast getting down field, seeing as he was a tight end. My bad. Embarrassing. I blame the years.

Looking forward to the Auburn/LSU game this weekend. Will be watching for sure. Get a true picture of just how good both teams are.
Auburn seems to feel that their defense has improved leaps and bounds. LSU will give us a better understanding on two fronts . . . . defense and Zack Metternberger.
Will also be interesting to see how LSU defenses the Malzahn tempo.

I miss my old school football.
I like offense as much as the next guy, but some of what we see now seems a lot more like the Tecmo Bowl
football game back on the first generation Sega Genesis video system.
That's fine I suppose if that's your thing, but it's not the same football game I grew up with and loved.
